Westbrook doesn't have a "Kobe mentality"...
This guy plays 100 miles per hour and wants to murder you on every play he's not very calculated. There's never been anything like Westbrook. He is easily the most athletic and explosive guard in the history of the game. Dude is extremely demonstrative too tons of attitude on the court sometimes does shyt that can be considered dirty.
With that being said his mentality leads to poor decision making and he's a poor outside shooter who loves to take threes on volume and most are poor shot selection. His stats are inflated and the team absolutely lives and dies with him. He takes 24 shots a game and he's only hitting on a 43% clip and he's averaging 5 turnovers. He is surrounded by strong defenders and has such an offensive burden that he takes plays off on defense and sometimes acts as a free safety off-ball. Every game he'll come through with a freakish defensive play to remind us of his potential. In the clutch his poor decision making leads to TO's and he's a vertical player who feasts on getting to the rack and quick midrange pull-ups he's not an effective player if you're looking for clutch buckets IMO. Every once in a while he does miraculous shyt off pure intangibles and guts but he's not near the clutch players at his position like Irving, Conley, Lowry, Lillard, etc. He is not a game manager.
He has a high % of uncontested rebounds and he snatches boards from teammates. The system is built for him to start the break. Most of his assists are interior passes when defenses collapse on him and transition action he's not like a LeBron or Harden who are P&R maestros and unbelievable at hitting three point shooters and initiating ball movement. Don't let those high assists totals fool you.
Westbrook is an enigma, beast player but very flawed not a guy you'd ever win a chip with.
