same can be said for Ross..

and, Rae didn't "popularize" that type of rap.. whatsoever.. we just gonna dismiss Kool G. Rap..? :mjpls:

:beli: the same can said of Ross ??? So untrue this guy must have a hypnobeam in his beats or something. I understand liking him cool he makes catchy songs but it's his beats and features/ hooks that carrying him.

go check that thread and see how it should be when discussing rappers u like online. Nothing but FANS in there discussing music THEY LIKE. Nobody who doesn't like Lloyd Banks is in there begging to beconvinced to enjoy his music. Just a thread full of fans celebrating music THEY enjoy.

You know what's sad. If u wanna blog and discuss a Rick Ross album on the internet u can't do so without Trolls and phony fans polluting the thread. Threads like this are exactly what's wrong with hiphop. "These ppl" just can't stand for ppl to like music THEY dont like.

:what:

Did you see the second post?

And you know what else isn't in that thread?

Dudes disrespecting other rappers to give Banks props.

Or going apeshyt with wild claims like "Banks is the GOAT" "This tape is a CLASSIC" etc

The stans are just as much a problem as the haters, maybe moreso... "haters" dont get offended if someone likes music they don't, "haters" don't lump anyone who likes or has something positive to say as stans.

Hell in that thread you linked, there are people saying negative things about the tape, but its all good cause people there understand its not meant to be malicious... u can't even have a discussion about a rapper like Ross without somebody catching feelings (which isn't dude's fault). So miss us with that

Ross has a few default topics he raps about. He doesn't have anything remotely as diverse as the Rae verses I listed.

And Rae did popularize it. G Rap pioneered it, but was never remotely in the same stratosphere as Rae/Wu-Tang when it came to mainstream recognition.

The nikka makes music that motivates you. Whether you're. In the gym or grinding on a different hustle, Ross has perfected a sound that pushes a nikka to make that money. His beats are part of it, but Ross has a unique delivery. That lends itself to the impact of his music.

Why do I have to write a paragraph about why I like rick ross. No he doesn't do introspective tracks, nah his subject matter dont change that often, but so the fukk what, I like his flow, his lyrics, his beats, hooks all that shyt

fukking method man aint introspective , where is his growth as an artist, what deep shyt does he rap about, but I'm not gonna shyt on the next man for being a method man fan...to each his own.

fukking pusha T raps about nothing but coke, where is his introspective shyt, where is jeezys introspective shyt...mind you I listen to all these nikkas.

Why do I have to like one type of rapper? I can listen to Ross for some mafia or ignorant type shyt, dom kennedy etc for that fly shyt, then turn around and bump some kendrick, nas or budden for introspective shyt.

Yeah Ross is one of my favorite rappers out right now, I put him top 5 of nikkas I like to listen to, if you don't like it suck a dikk

If a nikka put deeper than rap and life after death in front of me and ask me which one to pick, yeah I might pick deeper than rap depending on how I'm feeling that day, if you dont like it suck a dikk

The bottom line is Ross has made a career of making up a fantasy as a mafioso boss, a drug dealer kingpin and his music enviosions this false dream. He's no different than somebody who gets in the booth and raps about killing people. In reality, he worked for the law as a corrections officer to help fight against this very persona he has created in his own fabricated music. Is he lyrical? Not really. A highlight here and there. Great production and a false image that his fans buy into is what carries him. Typical ross song - mansions, yachts, lobster, jets, money, marble floors, maybachs, etc. Yes some people like to listen to lies. They use the "its entertainment" excuse. Fine. But dont compare him to any hip hop legend.

Let's say for the sake of argument Ross outshined all of those rappers. He didn't, but let's roll with it.

I don't understand what that's supposed to prove. It would be like saying you're ready for the NBA because you sunk one shot from mid court.

Those guys have been doing this consistently for 20ish years....one Ross verse and he's on their level, or to the more delusional people, better than them? :wtf:

So legends can use a false image and rap about those things but Ross can't? :snoop:

:what:

Who cares that much about what other ppl go "ape shyt" over tho?? That's the whole point of what I'm saying y'all mad because ppl have a different opinion than u and now u want those same ppl to prove to you why their opinion is more valid than yours?

:what:

Why are u so angry about the opinions of others??

Why do u care so much about how other ppl rate rappers?

What gives u the authority to even pose such questions to other hip-hop listeners?

Do u feel ur opinion is superior to other ppl?

Why post in a thread giving more attention to a rapper u feel doesn't deserve it? Why not ignore these things you don't agree with and instead shine more light on the rappers u feel deserve it?

U are actually contributing to the very thing u have a problem with
