I loved that they crunched the fukk outta clint trickett jr tonight :russ:

More of these kids are buying in and its paying dividends. That was the first time in a long time that the team was playing a game within a game. It was clear they wanted to punish him and NC State. Don't know if the motivation was Chubb disrespecting the logo a couple years ago, or if it was Hockman, but it was refreshing to see the team move past "looking competent" to "making statements" within a game. Progress is being made. DJax and Taylor just falls on that fumble against Boise, and I believe the pride and confidence would've clicked then and FSU would be sitting at 5-0 right now. Oh well....time to shock the world in a couple of weeks.

Amen brethren, I think if we atleast stay competitive with Clemmy we have a 70% chance to get to 8-4 which should land Taggart coach of the year IMO

The team has taken on taggarts mentality and demeanor.

He is laid back so they play laid back and lackluster

he shows no fire so they play with zero fire and passion.

Dude stands on the sidelines like he is just collecting a check

The energy is largely better than it was a year ago, and that’s great, but the accumulation of talent and overall development of this roster is still lightyears away from Clemson’s level. Some questions that I have about eventually building a roster that can get to a Clemson-like state include:

  • When can FSU build an offensive line that can block the likes of Clemson? Dontae Lucasis going to be a stud, but who else is getting markedly better? Should we be seeing FSU try young guys like Darius Washington and Ira Henry to see if they can bring some more physicality to the group? The fact FSU hasn't identified or secured a future left tackle to eventually anchor the line is concerning given that the staff identified it as a major position of need upon arriving here.
  • When does a dual-threat quarterback capable of mastering Taggart’s desired spread scheme arrive and get ready to play? Jeff Sims is coming in as an early enrollee and he has a ton of promise, but he's also considered a signal caller who needs some serious polish before he's ready to efficiently lead an offense.
  • Who are the future trench defenders who can replace the likes of Marvin Wilson and Cory Durden when they’re gone? I like some underclassmen like Dennis Briggs Jr. and Tru Thompson, but are they going to dominate games like Wilson and Durden? Are there elite edge rushers in the fold?
  • If your top skill players Cam Akers and Tamorrion Terry leave after this season, who replaces them? At least FSU currently has some blue-chip recruits secured in the 2020 class (i.e. Malachi Wideman, RB Jaylan Knighton, RB Lawrance Toafili and WR Ja'Khi Douglas).

And without surefire answers waiting in the wings at major positions of need -- i.e. offensive line and pass rusher -- I don’t know how many years away FSU is from having a chance at competing against a team like Clemson
