Who putting the meet & greet itinerary for the spring game together? I’m still sliding thru, just too busy to come up with shyt. All I know is I’m getting drunk since it’s my birthday weekend

First comment that I got from someone that watched is that the defense remains well ahead of the offense.

A big reason for that is FSU’s offensive line. It simply isn’t very good, and it especially isn’t very good when you are working with a third team center, one potential starting tackle, etc.

To some degree, the hope right now is to finish spring with healthy QBs behind that makeshift offensive line group.

The secondary has consistently impressed this spring. Regularly hearing praise for Taylor, Samuels, Nasirildeen, Woodbey and Fagan. I know Woodbey and Samuels both turned in big-time highlights in Friday’s practice.

A few notes shared on today's scrimmage:

Defense won the day. Offense had good moments, but defense was far more consistent and overall just better on the day.

Some standouts:

Defensive end Brian Burns continues to have a dominant spring. 2020 DT McKinnley Jackson mentioned the defensive line flashing on the day, and Burns led the charge. Lots of praise heaped on the defensive line, who is having their way with the offensive line a majority of the time.

Secondary continues to make their mark. Today it was cornerback Levonta Taylor and safety Hamsah Nasirildeen turning in a pair of impressive interceptions. Those two, along with Stanford Samuels III, Jaiden Woodbey and Cyrus Fagan have been regularly praised this spring.

Quarterback James Blackman had a couple of good moments through the air, hitting two big plays to wide receivers Keith Gavin and D.J. Matthews.

Cam Akers didn't do much on the day, as he was limited. Zaquandre White was absent, as previously noted. Jacques Patrick, Khalan Laborn and Amir Rasul picked up the slack. Laborn was the best of the bunch on the day.

In addition to Gavin and Matthews turning in highlights, Ontaria Wilson also did some things at the receiver spot. Described by one coach observing today as simply a 'natural athlete' at the position.
