Shiiiidddd.....we might become that one team that plugs the best player outta Florida, DMV, and Cali.
I can see the hating and investigations already. Pretty much all black staff and getting the best players out of damn near each football state. :blessed:.

Willie T is the perfect black dude for the job. He going to be talking slick when the hate comes. :myman: I don't have the patience I'd be too :birdman:

  • Some Sunday morning notes as we wait for the Mike Locksley saga to unfold…

    — I’d like to come here with some clarity on FSU’s pursuit of Mike Locksley but there is none right now. I can confirm that Willie Taggart and Locksley spoke again on Saturday afternoon and are still working through the negotiation. I’m not sure when we’ll get something final, but I can give you another name to keep an eye on — Maryland QB/OC Walt Bell. I have reason to believe he’d be the next name FSU looks to if things don’t work out with Locksley.

    — Based on what I’m told, it seems like FSU is moving in the direction of hiring a quarterback and wide receiver coach to finish off the staff. This means that I do not expect McNeese State head coach Lance Guidry on the staff. Ever since Locksley was offered the quarterback job I’ve been hearing that FSU is not going to hire a safety coach and that Harlon Barnett would coach the secondary. That’s no different than FSU’s last three DC’s Mark Stoops, Jeremy Pruitt and Charles Kelly. All three coached the secondary and called the defense.

I’ve also confirmed that Alonzo Hampton will not be pushed off-field. I fully expect him to be the special teams coach, as we’ve reported throughout this search.

    — A lot of people keep asking when the final hires will be made - I don’t know. What I do know is, Taggart is going to make the QB/OC hire first before making a move at receiver. This is a new development from the start of the search when Taggart was going to be the quarterback coach. It now looks like he’s willing to give up some of those responsibilities in order to hire a quality coach.

The coaches are back on the road recruiting today. I’m not sure how much will develop with the coaching search, but if there’s anything to report we’ll have it on Noles247.

  • Yo we got to move on from dude.. after 3 days of "negotiating" he still haven't given taggart a answer. I understand him looking out for himself and trying to get a raise/promotion but fukk that Mon will be a week to decide if you coming or not .

Coaching Insider: New name to focus on at QB/OC
Florida State looks to be moving on from Mike Locksley.

There was a major development today in Florida State’s coaching search - but it happened at Alabama. Today Alabama offensive coordinator Brian Daboll accepted the same job with the Buffalo Bills.
What does this mean for FSU?

I’m told the Seminoles are prepared to move on from their pursuit of Alabama wide receivers coach Mike Locksley. The thought here is that he will be named Alabama’s new offensive coordinator in the coming days.

So who’s up next for FSU?

As we reported this morning, expect for Willie Taggart to focus in on Maryland quarterback coach/offensive coordinator Walt Bell. I can confirm he has not been offered the position yet, however, a source indicates that an offer could go out in the next 24 hours. Although we’ve preached patience with the coaching seach, Taggart is trying to wrap up his staff within the next few days. A hire at quarterback/OC will be first, followed by a receivers coach, which will round out the coaching staff.

We’ll have more on Noles247 as it develops.
