i dig, there are instances where this occurs, on the flip side of the coin, it is not a necessity like what the OP makes it out to be. I doubt Sun-Tzu, Akenaton, and other great thinkers of the antiquated past would have been any smarter if they had travelled to other continents. but then again, thats just my humble opinion.

to each his own, i have enough intelligence to realize that learning styles are different, and the grand tours learning experience are no longer needed to gain a wider grasp on contemporary knowledge. going to france might expose me to picasso paintings, but can't i see those on the internet?
