the feint left hook which results in a right hand destroying virgin's ribs is one of my favorites

RJJ is so god damn fast that is unfair. Didn't even look like he loaded up on that right.

Someone posted a 2pc he threw and said it looked like he was on FF'd, best way to describe roy imo.

Yeah When Jones was the LHW King and best Pound 4 Pound. People would call him out and say Jones is ducking them even though they in different divisions and wouldn't leave.
:russ:

You had Joe C & B-Hop etc. on that bullsh!t, once RJJ destroys himself moving backdown from HW and is vulnerable to be taken by Tarver. Then they all decided to move up then.

fight wouldnt be close
a washed up jones dropped him

i think roy would win pretty easy tbh. the first round of their fight to me is what i think would have happened over 12 rounds. roy would have been harder to catch in his prime, and he punched hard enough to keep calzaghe at bay. roy was hard for joe to catch in the first round, roy just couldnt keep it up against a prime joe for the whole fight.

This post speaks volumes on human nature itself, especially the bolded.

They don't really love you til you're gone.

Everyone used to call him out and say he fought a bunch of chumps, but his resume is pretty impressive when you go back and look at it. Dude beat James Toney and Bernard Hopkins when they were in much better atheltic shape and still talented boxers.

Also, those other cats weren't necessarily bad fighters, it was just that Roy Jones Jr. was so much better it seemed they weren't at least average. You can see the distinction between human and extraordinary when he'd fight.

RJJ is my GOAT :blessed:

Over the years on The Coli I noticed there were a lot of people that didn't appreciate his greatness but only focus on his loses. You see how they turned on my boy/GOAT RJJ once he started making everybody looking like nobody, had that Roycott etc. Then once he lost people trying to discredit everything the man did before that. Like it didn't mean nothing. Roy's persona as a boxer is totally different how he really is. I mean he was cocky but not as bad as some people. He's pretty down to earth to his fans and to most people.

I got dude as my GOAT also.

Yeah Roy in the ring was different from Roy outside it. Inside it he was a showman, out of it more of a philosopher, teacher and student. Dude even promoted the importance of boxing safety.

Completely agree with the part about downplaying someone's credentials also. Just like this fight vs John Ruiz, people really tried/try to take this accomplishment away from him. I don't want to hear about Ruiz not being a good fighter either, dude has a decent resume. Roy made that fight look easy because Ruiz found out he had to respect Roy's power.

Look at the tale of the tape, Roy was outweighed by 30 pounds going into the fight. But that's not "just" 30 pounds, that's a boxer who fights at that weight vs somebody who fights at a weight 30 pounds lighter. So technically dude beat somebody that who when in shape is 60 pounds heavier.

Insane.
