1. Kyrie already isn't a likable player.
2. He's VP of the union.
3. He's injured and wasn't coming back
4. He's on a max deal.

To this point: why is ANY form of entertainment important? You tell us. To us, sports are preferred entertainment, but for these athletes, this is a job. They make a living off this. Covid-19 effectively denied a lot of people the chance to do their job. Now you have jobs slowly opening up, people going back to work. I've seen it here in NY. Those people that were marching, that happened right before phase 1 started in the city and come Monday, the crowds weren't as big. Why? People have to go back to making a living. We don't get paid to protest. That doesn't mean people are less invested in what's going on. They just have pressing needs that they need to handle. We've been mostly without sports for months now and if they come back, we can't attend them in person. What have we done? We've found other "distractions." For some, it's anything streaming. Others, it's game shows or board games. There's a natural distraction. It's called summer. Hell, this very site is a distraction. That doesn't mean we're less invested. If there are people only invested in BLM and black issues out of sheer boredom, the smallest thing will get them to forget about this. The idea that sports coming back will make us not care is low key insulting, like we're all retards who can't walk and chew gum at the same time.

Finally some well thought out logic. And to be honest this should be common sense but we in the age of social engineering where if you don't agree with the masses you're a outcast. Its all kinds of mental gymnastics and manipulation going on its sick

Its like seeing a on coming crash and nothing you can do about it. The players hearts are in the right place but they are going about it wrong and if they dont play this right its gonna cost them a lot.

Like I said I would love to be a fly on the wall to hear these journayman minimum wage players and these kats on rookie contracts talk (outside of mitchell).

Cause right now all we see is twitter and IG comments of vets who have made big time money talking about either start back up or shut it down.

shyt like rich folks saying we do or don't need a stimulus check for the poor.

an entity whose motto is "if it bleeds it leads" isn't a good measure to determine effectiveness because it formulaic and can easily be manipulated, which rioting/anarchy does....the fact that all those folks showed up for a peaceful protest, not for an opportunity to get free shyt/ social media dap fish/get main stream media coverage, suggest that what happen on the video is the motivation

You're missing he point. The peaceful protesting has shown to have little impact since the days of Martin Luther King; it's really the rioting that have people waking up and changing tune as @Ziggiy touched on already

Ima just say this

If recent events have taught us anything, its that following the status quo accomplishes absolutely NOTHING. The moment protestors stopped singing Kumbaya and We Shall Overcome and started fukking up these white people’s buildings and businesses all of a sudden Black Lives Matter became a REAL thing. With almost every Cac owned conglomerate making statements in support of combating white supremacy and law reform. Conversations about defunding corrupt police precincts became actual ACTION.

.

My thing is, nothing the NBA will do as a protest will equal what those people rioting were doing, as far as drawing attention for the cause to the wider world OUTSIDE of sports. Nba players not playing will hurt the nba/white owners' pockets for sure but in the end, NBA players are going to fuk over their own pockets and power.

Lebron is a clout chaser.

Benevolent acts done to make him appear a certain way.

Lebron pops a lot of sh*t, but don't risk sh*t.

If Lebron wants to he is really about that life, do ONE THING that shows he is not trying to straddle the fence.

It is cool what he does, but people have to remind his Stans and sychophants that, while it is better than he does what he does than do nothing, stop comparing him to athletes that risked everything.

Lebron ain't trying to fu*k up paper or future opportunities.

Patrick Beverly and Avery Bradley made $100 M?

I gotta remember that "Black Wealth = Pro Black" line when the "repubs buy sneakers, why are jordans so expensive?" crowd resurfaces.

NBA can rip up the current CBA if the season is lost under "the occurrence of a Force Majeure Event." Would likely lead to a lengthy lockout and much smaller contracts in the future.

It would be a tremendous sacrifice for the young players in this league.
They better play to simply avoid that situation
