Tough to say the industry doesn't care or anything's beneath anybody, doesn't Cornette have the #1 wrestling podcast? If he's able to make higher highs in an industry with nothing but lower lows, it sounds to me he's more relevant than we want to admit.

If nothing else, AEW cares since wrestlers acknowledge him every couple of months like clockwork. They clearly don't miss an episode.

While I understand. One of the things, from my end, is that Wrestling just doesn't have that Pop Cultural hold. So while Cornette's Podcast might be number one, its still a niche. People who would listen to Cornette would be the niche fans vs. a general listener.

I wouldn't say it's just Cornette's ideology as much as it's the truth, that's why so many agree. There's no argument about ignoring because the other side says nothing and does just fine. I'm just saying AEW is incapable of doing that because they don't ignore/copyright strike anyone that's critical of them and that Cornette isn't this irrelevant old man yelling at clouds like some want to say.

It's fine if you don't like him for x, y, z, but you don't have to make up stuff. The argument is there that Cornette in 2021 is more relevant than any other non in-ring talent.

Yeah, but he's super relevant because he is the "validation" or "voice" of these opinions within wrestling industry. People can't cite or retweet some other nobody mark and get traction for their idea. There has to be a "verified" person in the industry not to echo, but cosign your opinion. It's part of all social media, and all topics and subjects that can be critiqued.

The same is true with Meltzer. These guys wouldn't get nearly as much burn if people didn't feel the need to have to repost and retweet.

Half of the threads on this site even, have tweets and articles from Meltzer and Cornette. Just post and stand on your own opinion, you don't need a co-sign from someone "verified" to support your idea, even if it is the same.
