You can cite whatever study you want. All I know is in Saudi Arabia they don't lock their homes or cars when they go out. Also during Friday prayer business people in Muslim countries leave their money in the streets while they pray. When they come back ain't a penny gone.

Abuse (in all its forms) and shame are common child rearing tactics with the Father serving as the sheriff and male heirs as the deputies when it comes to handing out punishment. Attempting to break free and live your own life might be the biggest offense as it brings great shame on the family within the community. Repercussions are generally severe.

Progress has been slow but folks fighting back like in Iran gives me hope.
