You can cite whatever study you want. All I know is in Saudi Arabia they don't lock their homes or cars when they go out. Also during Friday prayer business people in Muslim countries leave their money in the streets while they pray. When they come back ain't a penny gone.

If you cut the hands off thieves people won't be likely to steal. Severe punishment in public seems to work well in deterring thieves in Saudi Arabia.
