you and a few others get mad or see it as a waste of time when people try to figure out homosexuality (disease, genetic trait, bad mentality etc) and say they should just mind their business

It's not on the list because the basic definition of any mental disorder or illness must include a debilitating or damaging element. Gays are not debilitated or harmed by their homosexuality, nor do they harm anyone else because of it. Gays can be successful in any career that a straight person can be successful in. They can contribute to society in as many ways as a straight person who doesn't have kids. They can even adopt, and raise healthy, successful children that way (as studies have shown time and time again, gay parents have no adverse effects on their children, nor are their children influenced in their sexuality by them.)

As humans, we don't and cannot structure society around functionalist imperatives like breeding to the exclusion of people who don't want children or have different sexual orientations without becoming tyrannical. To simply decide to turn statistical normalities like having children into moral or political imperatives is dangerous.

Curious to what people think - I thought that was the point of the board. I didn't attack anything. I actually copied that question from a scientific blog. It's not my question - however, even though I attacked no one, I get the personal attacks, lol. People say science this and science that...... but when you paste a scientific article they don't agree with you get attacked personally;, even when you're pretty civilized with these lames.

If this wasn't something to be discussed then why are researchers discussing it?. Homosexuality was only 10% of what the article was about, but if I made a thread about the rest of it, there would be 0 responses.

Because you deserve to be attacked personally if you think homosexuality is a disorder. I know for a fact that its not the consensus of the scientific community.

I agree they can be parents and productive members of society. It's strange to me that they are overrepresented in the media and TV shows - not sure if there is an agenda, but it seems very strange - what do you think about the cool to be gay push??? However, our species wouldn't be here today if everyone had this disorder, so there really is a fine line with claiming something isn't a debilitating element.

And just so you know, people would go nuts if people called gay ness a life choice - so the consensus is that people are born that way and that its an abnormality - did u read the article and research? I'm not going to go on a leap to assume why you've posted in this thread more than anyone else.
