From what you posted, the term nuclear had many meanings before it's meaning in atomics and the nuclear in nuclear family comes from those other meanings. I was confused because I was just studying nuclear chemistry last semester, and it didn't make sense from what I studying.

The nuclear family encourages isolation for women ie give up or distancing your social circle. So that when the relationship ultimately fails (which they do more than not) now you have a single mom in a world that doesn't support single motherhood.

The Nuclear family is unstable and literally built on the whims of the parents.

If we had a system that stopped that isolation and encouraged a more stable and dependable family system then we would have better outcomes.

My white coworkers mom goes into a nursing the week after Thanksgiving. It's like 5k a month. I asked him why doesnt he gave her love with him and his kids, her grandkids then he doesn't necessarily even have to pay 900 a month for daycare and he literally said " I can't stand her and the way she treated me when I was a teenager before I moved out, she needs to be on her own. Our relationship is better, in still getting money in her will, her and the kids are great but I wouldn't be able to stand having her in my house."

If your parents own a house it doesn't even financially make sense to be on your own if you don't want to. You can go to college or even work a full time job and save your checks 1-3 years to come up with 40k to put down on a house. No debt, no bullshyt.

There’s definitely no hate for the nuclear family on my end, I would never diss something people should strive for , I just think there’s another avenue for our people as going the traditional route with the nuclear family is a little harder these and multi family living can still lead to home ownership.

Ultimately even in multi family living there should be structure and privacy

I feel you though it’s definitely not easy being the head of household I commend you for that and salute you being a black man and taking the leadership role with your head held high, continue striving for greatness for you and your family

Obviously you can still visit friends and family. Nuclear family just means those grandparents and cousins don't live under the same roof. or at least not in close proximity.
I see my cousins on special occasions. family reunions, holidays, weddings stuff like that. it doesn't feel like a village anymore.
When i was a kid it was more like that village though, we lived literally just a block over from half my relatives. Would ride bikes with my cousins in the summer, then stop over by grandmas house for ice cream to cool off. Be back home by sun down to have dinner with mom and dad. And i gotta say i miss those days. These days most of my relatives live in different towns and some in different states. I know most of my nieces and nephews through facebook updates and heart emojis

Yeah that pay your parents to live there shyt is asinine. You should contribute, buy groceries, or pay the cable bill, water bill or something, even if it just means giving them $300 a month.

At 1k per rent you still gotta pay your own cable/internet/water/gas so 1k for rent plus utilities might be 1200, 1300+.

shyt the only reason one should be paying rent is when everyone is chipping in to purchase the house, to own it. Then once the house is owned out right that door should be reciprocal so the kids or siblings should be able to rest, stack paper enough to get their own down payment and get their own spot.
