How’d you get into DevOps and how are you liking it?What's up yall, I'm pretty new to the board myself (also from nj) but I work as a DevOps engineer for a start up in NYC. I'm still very new to the tech scene (1 year jr lvl) but I was blessed to land a job.
I have a lot of things to work on so I'm constantly trying to learn nee things. Ice been thinking about starting my own business because I realized everyone I admire is a entrepreneur. Now I have the tool set to get there but I just need to apply myself

Interesting. I ask because most of the DevOps guys I do know have a lot of experience. In kinda the same way I also don’t have a real love for code the way a lot of people around me seem to. But I definitely have be looking at DevOps a bit more latelyI went to a software engineering school (bootcamp) in San francisco where I became a full stack software engineer. I liked coding but didnt love it. I felt more at home automating things, setting up cyber security, bash scripting and working with linux systems so I automatically enjoyed the DevOps approach before I even knew what it was.
My first job out if the school was a DevOps position, I dont even know how I landed it because from my knowledge in order to work in DevOps you should have a couple years of being a programmer and sys admin experience and I'm fresh out. But what helped me was being diligent when I applied for jobs and showed the companies I knew what I was talking about even if I wasnt the most technical person
But I love working in DevOps but in the future i may want to shift to cybersecurity..idk though
