Anybody has any experience working with backstage?

i started an internship last Tuesday (hopefully an offer by the end of August) , and my project is to move a bunch of their tools to backstage.
Doesn't seem too difficult , but its all new to me.

congrats !

is it your first IT role?

if so, then pay special attention to edge and error cases in whatever you do. spend some time hardening whatever you produce so that it behaves sensbly, in as many scenarios as possible.

Things are moving pretty slow for me, feeling the load of working 12hrs days and barely being able to squeeze in 2hrs of study, on my single day off of the week I sleep half the day.

Strongly considering dishing out 12-14k for a bootcamp. They’re a lot more expensive up here in Canada vs the states. I’d be able to afford it, but would take me 4 months, career support aspect seems great too.

O wow, thats alot. People usually pay these out of pocket or can you take out loans like you would a student loan for one of these? Do they also give you a gurauntee of a job and take a percentage for referencing you?

I’ll be on unemployment once I decide to go for it, I’ll be out of work November/December. There’s some government subsidies that may be available to me for education/career change. Inshallah it’ll work out, my main 2 reasons is I’d get better structure and support, and getting help to be job ready and they’d help during job hunt.

Brother, I completely understand. I've been slacking a lot lately myself because of work.

I'm actually trying to form a study accountability group. I think that would help me.

That's the goal, man. I mean a job is cool but if they can pay us 6 figures, imagine how much the ppl at the top are making. I want that real money. I want to shake things up.

I think I tanked the interview :francis: flopped the first trivia question then got into my own head.oh well, onwards and upwards
so I moved on to the next round but they dropped my offer letter from 125 to 110. :beli:. I'll still take it if I pass the final interview . I know they have the money to pay me that 125. Just gotta get inside and prove it / get an offer from someone else for that amount and have them match it.

Can't believe I missed contributing/participating in the thread for some of the docker posts. Man do I like docker more than having to deal with the overhead of virtual machines. Also, WSL2 with windows terminal make windows much more pleasant, lol

I used docker for the first time last month. Do you know of any good vids to help me improve my skills with it?

In my experience you have to be very hands on with Docker to really improve. A lot of videos will avoid typical errors. Like an easy gotcha is scripts lose execution privileges when copied in via the Dockerfile. So you always have to have a mechanism to fix that.
