So you telling me the people who wrote the bible recalled every single thing Jesus/God told them word for word, no mistakes? **Katt Williams voice*

I actually don’t have a problem with them though, I think they are good tales of morality regardless of their fact or fiction.

the problem is a lot of people who claim to be believers (especially the loudest ones in western society) act nothing like Jesus
but they want him to die for their salvation

thats why Peters dialogue with Jesus is so telling

"and the gates of hell will not prevail against it"

Jesus says that Judas (Judah) would wish he was not born

in the first part of Matthew when the Angel appears to Joseph and tells him to flee to Egypt with Jesus and Mary and only to return AFTER all those that sought the young childs life are dead.

So everyone wishing death on Jesus is under a miserable curse that exposes them. @Mystic

Matthew 16:16-18
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

My biggest problem with Christianity is that you're not just expected to place your faith in a God that doesn't interact with you, you're expected to place your faith in his followers too. That shyt is easier to sell in a small community, on the same side of the world...not so much across hundreds of years, several dead languages, and on different sides of the world. There's reason why their tens of thousand denominations of Christianity and its gone through several schisms. And I'm not even considering the branches that were killed off by other Christians.

Which god? Y'all got the same books and the same gospels but this prophet ain't that prophet, this is the messiah that's not the messiah blah blah.
What made El so dope that they made HIM the almighty?
Babylonians had the same books but were they wrong? Assyrians too.

Lol
The interpretation of "Shaddai" as Almighty was done by english scribes. The hebrew translation is El of the Breasts (God of the Breasts)
From the God of your ancestor, who supports you,

from Shadday who blesses you:

the blessings of Heaven above,

the blessings of Abyss crouching below;

the blessings of Breasts-and-Womb,

the blessings of your Father, warrior Most High;

the blessings of the Everlasting Mountains,

[the blessings] of the outlying Eternal Hills.’

what is obscured in the old testament is polytheism, but its interpreted wrong today...

Theres nothing wrong believing in God. I’m not sure what I’m suppose to say.
I get your stance and you’re not wrong but the Bible isn’t the word of god it was literally written by men long after his death. So when people read the Bible they are reading the words of men:yeshrug:

If you wrote a book that condenses all your theories, beliefs and references together I'd buy it, no lie

You placing your mental health around fiction for morality instead of being inherently good for humanity sake. You are looking to be rewarded and fear spiritual punishment.

That then breeds a false reality and causes mental strain which turns into a mental health crises. Check the Black community in America for example.
Well you could just believe in man, you know, the same kind of men who colonized the world, made nukes, destroy whole economies and wipe out generations but give you a PlayStation to make you feel better about yourself

I agree.

Now, if I read the Bible and it gives me insight and helps sharpen my perspective. Theres nothing wrong with that.

If I take these words, form a connection with what I consider the foundation of these words, GOD. There is nothing wrong with that.

What breh has an issue you with is the use of the words in the Bible. We all do. That doesn’t take away the foundation.

If someone doesn’t believe in God that’s understandable. The word has been fukked over a million times. I don’t blame them.
