Ever since Smackdown was introduced in 99, the product slowly started dying, mainly because storylines had stretched to accommodate the B show.

The brand extension helped curb this, but now theres too much talent which means more salaries to be paid.

The E needs to go back RAW and RAW only. Obviously won't happen, but it would improve things.
The Eddie Guerrero run alone proves that wrong..then u toss in how Bryan carried it and so forth. They left Raw in the dust 90 % of the time after that last Hollywood Rock 03 run.

They put him on the cover of the new video game and he's Triple H's favorite. He's not going anywhere.

To their credit, it at least seems they're doing whatever they can to avoid cutting talent. A couple years ago, they would have said fukk it and wiped half the undercard to save money.

But damn, they're cutting so much of their online content/presence. I didn't even know this show was a thing.
Thats all well and good except they are still hiring in waves. What good is budget cuts when they are cutting content with nothing fr the talent they employ to do. Whatever this war against the indies is supposed to be, its like watching McDonalds trying to put diners out of business.

Facts.

Smackdown is essentially dead weight in 2017.

They had it right the first time, but they thought their kindness towards a lot of these marks would be reciprocated by bringing back the brand split.

Smackdown at it's best was better as another show that allowed raw storylines to continue on throughout the week.

Smackdown`s purpose is to be what thunder was to nitro.

Yup, remember folks SD was only brought in to battle Thunder. More TV, More Matches, More Costs, Overall Saturation of product. It'll be hard to cancel Smackdown and go to one show a week.

cutting talent wouldn't be a bad thing...they're not doing anything with most of them..at least cut the people who haven't really been progressing in developmental.

They need to cut talent, too many guys going nowhere collecting a check

All fair points. I'm never going to call for people to start losing jobs, but I can't argue the logic here.

All in all, the current model for the E is unsustainable given where they're at. They are overloaded with talent and have limited options for getting a return on that investment. Something has to give eventually.

The roster is huge now. RAW, Smackdown, NXT, UK division, 205 Live, plus all the trainees, plus on-air commentators/interviewers, plus all the production people, etc...all this money is being rearranged to into employees instead of stuff like pyro and unnecessary web shows. They have to pay all these women for that tournament too. Stuff like that.
With this being thecoli, I read this as something else :deadrose:
