So why hasn't Dicaprio won an Oscar yet?

i like dicaprio but he needs to go out on a limb and work with some unknown people, hes worked with some of the best directors the past 5 years

I don't think so, that is a bit tricky, look at what working with MCG did for Drew Barrymore, he career is in the bushes now, now if he worked with Sofia Coppola or Spike Jonz that would be okay, even Michel Gondry, but the rest i would pass on, you don'y get to the top working with hacks.

dicaprio x hanks x Walken x Spielberg (the last time he was good IMO..also came out with minority report that year, he was in a special zone). what more can one want?

LOVED Catch Me If You Can, but that movie came out at the same time that Gangs In New York did and Gangs got more attention at the time...

His performance was MUCH better in CMIYC though

If the oscar that went to Waltz shoulda went to Leo for Django...even if for the dinner scene alone...dude Leo paid dues...he most def shoulda got one for CMIYC...but the acadamy loves DDL's dikk so...

]Honestly I think the guy is overrated.[/B] He's been in a lot of great movies but I'm just not into his style of acting most of the time because it doesn't seem natural. He doesn't seem like a natural human being in most of his movies. Whats Eating Gilbert's Grape, The Basketball Diaries, and even The Departed are movies where he does have a more natural approach though. Its movies like Catch Me If You Can, The Aviator, Inception, etc. though where his performances seem like a guy whose acting and he comes across as very choreographed.

How can a guy be overrated when he's being snubbed by the Oscars?

Obviously he's been in a lot of classics but truthfully there isn't one performance I can say "he got robbed of an oscar for that". He's always good, even great but not amazing oscar level performances. Although I do feel he's gotten better and better as the years go on and an oscar's not too far off.

It was powerful but oscar worthy? Tom Hanks got it for Forrest Gump that year...u gonna say Leo's performance was better? Hell naw.....Morgan Freeman in Shawshank was better too.

He said some sideways comments when he wasnt nominated for Titanic when he was young nd he's paying for it now. They will give him his award at some point it just won't be for his best performance! Similar to Scorsese...yeah departed was good, but he had way better films before that didn't win and should have
