Define consciousness.
AH-HA! Another question you stupid evolutionists and atheists can't answer!
Hell, sperm has consciousness.
is it because humans dont have the conciousness to sense danger or is it because our senses are being dulled by technology?
I knew this thread smelled of undercover conspiracy
There is no "why" dude. We evolved a complex and large brain. The complexity of it allows for such a high level of consciousness. The why is irrelevant and we already have the evolutionary framework to explain it.Let's not get stuck on semantics and pretend like we don't know what he's asking. Other animals have brains and basic instinct, limited emotional responses (only a few do) and limited complex thoughts (only a few do).
Humans on the other hand, examine and explore the reasons behind the existence of life on Earth. We manipulate and even experiment on other animals to develop a deep understanding of organisms. That's a huge difference between another animals signalling about some food n sh1t .
There are a million scientific explanations... none explain why we evolved this level of consciousness..
I'm not a scientist.. but in Islam we know that most of what we perceive through our eyes and mind is a physical illusion and a way to rationalize our world. The duality of the mind and body is proven in the fact that even if chimps, apes, dolpins, or whatever organism- has large sensory areas of the brain they still will not have our 'awareness'. Also, it's proven in the fact that we go beyond survival instinct to do things irrelevant and sometimes counterproductive to the survival of our species. We appreciate beauty, humor, irony, and death. We aren't in direct harmony with nature, so it seems that our minds and consciousness aren't solely due to natural evolution. Well, it may be due to natural evolution, but so far no physiological explanation exists.
We can give all these example of cats, and dogs, and fish n sh1t... but in reality our metacognition is unique to humans. Only with that understanding as a starting point, can we attempt to figure out why.
