So when are we going to get a 30 for 30 for Arvydas Sabonis?

Sabonis was a good player in the NBA because he was large and skilled. Not using steroids won't make you less skilled. Was bonds a less skilled player before steroids? Exactly.

As far as Sabonis being on steroids during his time in Russia, just read up on the USSR, Olympics and steroid use in the 70s and 80s. That will tell you everything you know.

Yea ill have to check it out breh.. either way I would have love to see how he measured up on the Blazer squads in the late 80's early 90's.. Call me crazy but I think Bulls vs Blazers '92 might have been different if Sabonis was on that roster..Maybe not the blazers winning it all but im sure a game 7 would have happened

Also lets chill with the myth that Sabonis destroyed Robinson. Sabonis had 13 pts and 13 rebs in that game. Where as Robinson had 19 pts and 12 rebs. People were just shocked that the USSR beat the US team.

Yeah with a health Sabonis it would have went 7. But heck we could say what would have happened it the blazers didn't take Sam Bowie and took MJ instead.

Also that 92 season Sabonis was hurt as well. So he still wasn't the same dude.

Just watched a good part of that game.
Sabonis and Robinson were playing pretty equal, both the best players.
#7, #100 on USSR (I believe #7 is Marcioulinis, who played for the warriors) and number #4,#9 just making a lot of veteran plays, back screens, flops, cuts, they are clearly more experienced. US is trying to win with brute strength but the officiating is pretty bad both ways and the US isn't allowed to be as physical as they want to be

No doubt but the intriguing part of this game to me was moreso the back story with David Robinson being a military man and the USSR vs US cold war coming to ahead along with it being an election year...Also that game sparked the movement for the '92 Dream Team

Sabonis could have been a GOAT big man had he came into the NBA in the late 80s. But even if not he deserves it his life story is awesome. Sabonis was working Shaq that series where the Blazers were playing the Lakers.

If Sabonis came over when drafted those early 90's Blazer teams probably win a championship or two.

Ya this would be a dope 30 for 30 cuz if he came over earlier the legacy of Jordan might of been different today. Portland for sure would of won a couple of ships with him in the middle. That 90's team won 63 games and the 91 team won 57 games if they had Sabonis Michael might of had to wait a couple more years for a ship.

There's a 30 for 30 style documentary called "the other dream team" about Lithuania, it focuses heavily on Sabonis. Really good watch, I'd recommend it.
was coming in to say this. It's a REALLY dope watch

Lithuania is gonna produce another great big man, that country is obsessed with basketball and you can see it coming.
breh, one of the best things about being over here in SA is I get to see a lot of Euro/Intl basketball..haven't even bothered watching NBA outside of a few matchups...the game is just that better to me...if I was a HS kid, I'd say fukk college and go play for one of the teams overseas in one of the top leagues....you can tell they stress the style of ball that could keep you in the league for a good 7-10 years and you'd learn more there than the "amateur" game
