Nah people are just seeing an idiot coach not adjusting to QB that is not Lamar Jackson or Tebow. An idiot that didn't play him sparingly his rookie year so he can get acclimated to the speed of the NFL. Shanny is a hack like Harbaugh at this point.

Plus I don't get the major malfunction of he hasn't played enough to determine anything. Has he played a whole season? No not at all. No QB in his class came in and balled out. It's not normal to have a Herbert or Purdy. It simply doesn't happen like that. These are rare cases.
Breh, I'm convinced you just don't like good coaches. Harbs and Shanny are easily the 2 best coaches we've had since Seifert :heh:

And for the record, I wanted Trey to start from Day 1. But knowing what we know now, starting Jimmy in 2021 ended up being the right call for the team. And I'm far from a Jimmy fan :manny:

I disagree, if Trey started from day one we'd have a much better idea of what he is now. We still don't know shyt about him and even considering both extreme scenarios this year (he's really good or he really bombs) you don't know what's gonna happen after - if he's really good how will the league adjust and if he bombs can he improve substantially.
Two year sample size is a lot more telling than one year sample size.

When you give up this much for a QB on a rookie contract, you need to maximize his value to the team.

Would we, tho?

In a very limited sample size, Trey's already had three significant injuries (broken finger, sprained knee, broken ankle). And in the three games he started and finished, the team’s only 1-2. I thought starting Jimmy in 2021 was better for the team because I doubt Trey would've led them to the playoffs that year even if he was healthy. And the team was really desperate for a playoff run since they only had 1 playoff year in the first 4 years of Kyle's tenure. Sticking with Jimmy was a big reason why they made 2 deep playoff runs in the last 2 years

Short term, it was the right call for the team imo. Long term, it’s a problem. And it's a real conundrum because Trey's short and long term development got thrown all the way off when he broke his ankle

if we were looking at short-term success only, we shoulda did what the Rams did and got Stafford. When you spend so much on a project QB on a win-now team, and if you say long-term its a problem....isnt there an issue there ? :heh:

We were a dropped pick away from playing in the Super Bowl against a team we already beat once. Starting Jimmy was definitely the right move.

I agree with everything else though.
