You know what else is weird? Not drafting Patrick Mahomes or Deshaun Watson, let alone scouting them. All because Kirk Cousins was the original master planI swear 49ers find any way possible to think Cousins will play for us, it's weird as fukk
That said, I hope it doesn’t happen and I don’t think it will but you never know. If Brock regresses, Trey doesn’t pan out, and Darnold is still trash, Cousins being considered for QB1 in 2024 will probably be on the table

No it's just white man rhetoric. They are always going to say a white QB no matter how sorry AF he is, is better than a black QB. The small sample size of play Trey has I'll take over what I've seen from Darnold.
Only way Trey is a bust is because that big eared Elf didn't use him correctly. He gets traded, I think he looks much better on the field.

I think we find a trade partner for Trey Lance but it will likely be toward the end of the preseason or beginning of the regular season. Dude is only 23 and the upside is apparent it's just tough develop him in a win now environment.
Though if I had my way I would hold on to him and see if we can flip Darnold as a redemption project.

I actually don't think they trade him. What 49ers value Trey at doesn't correspond to his value as other teams see it. Then considering Brock is after a major surgery/injury and Darnold is a bum and our QBs always get hurt. Unless someone gives a first rounder for him he stays here.
I also don't believe in Darnold hype. That guy signed for peanuts to be third QB. No one thinks he's particularly good. Literally no one is trading anything for him.

The NFL is weird and wacky place. I think our recent success is a stabilizing force. We now have a reputation for rehabbing lapsed players. How many supposed busts careers have we revived with stints on our teams.
But yea I would prefer we keep Lance as well. Its crazy to have 2 starting level quarterbacks and a flawed but experienced 3rd QB.
Just need to pray to the football gods to stay healthy.

But we need to be concerned about the defense, like I don’t want our defense breaking and giving up 30+ points again…. That’s not the key to success in the playoffs or winning a Superbowl
