Made (begged) my girl watch this with me today. I'd usually go see something like this alone or with a friend or two but today I felt differently. Wouldn't let her read descriptions of the movie because I know she'd be on some :dwillhuh: shyt

When we got to the movie theater and she saw the poster I got the whole :why::ufdup:

At moments through the movie she was :lupe: :russ::leon::ooh::sadcam::whew:

After we got out of the theaters she said "it was ok." I knew better though. :comeon:

I give it a 4.5/5 on the "loud CGI heavy 3D movie" scale. About 100000x better than pretty much any action movie released thus far this year and the entire Transformers franchise. THIS is how you do big robots. This movie was EPIC without being forced.

Take notes Michael Bay.

yall must had seen a different movie.

all the fight scenes was beyond garbage.

let me get this right, they spent billions of dollars to build those jager just for some kung fu hand to hand combat as it's primary attack. gtfo. why not add some rocket launcher or a mini gun.

Did you see how ineffective the fighter jets and military weapons were against them? It was made clear that the monsters knew about us and were adapting. Missiles and guns would only go so far.

A stretch, yes. But it's not as big of a plot hole as you're making it out to be.

And I don't think anyone went in there expecting some Jet Li shyt. Or did you? :lupe:

How bout the esp blast that knocked out the jagers yet somehow ol boy yager was not affected bc it was analog but it had all type of electronics displays on that bytch :aicmon:

Or the nikka that got ate alive only to comeback in the end. It was a dope movie but these nikkas are stretching how good a movie it was to support their bullshyt hatred they have for other directors and movies that came out this year :skip:

Nah nikkas we see through ya'll :mjpls:

Didn't you see the missile launchers that were already used in the film? Regardless, they explained the hand-to-hand combat thing in the first few minutes of the film- the kaiju's blood/biology was toxic. Anything that made them bleed immediately poisoned the water/land. Their initial choice was to nuke them, leaving no real trace of those things and destroying whole cities in the process, or try and find a different solution that would contain the damage. That's also why all the jaegers' weapons were made to prevent mass bleeding, like the blades or the plasma cannon that immediately cauterized the wounds.

:comeon:

"Analog" and "digital" were metaphors, not literal descriptions, and they referred to the power source. Gipsy Danger was nuclear-powered, like the rest of the older generation of jaegers, instead of being powered by a rechargeable battery, like the newer ones. It doesn't mean there were no electronics. :skip: It just means that the electronics had a power source that wasn't fried by the EMP, so they didn't necessarily have to stop working. It's the difference between modern laptop batteries, which have integrated electronics in them, and so wouldn't withstand an EMP, and old-school alkaline or lithium batteries, which would be unaffected.

And you can accept all the flaws this movie has and still see that it was better than Man of Steel, which I see you've been trying to defend low-key in this thread by using the exact same tactics of denial you're accusing others of, and which has far more serious plot holes.

You do know nuclear power uses electronic devices that are succeptible for an emp blast right, Unless that shyt was built back in WW2 (which I think it wold still have went down) it would have went down. How bout the HELO's that carried the yager there were they nuclear powereD analog helicopters running on lithium batteries to :skip: . Again an EMP blast fries all electronics operated device including one as sophisticated as a nuclear power plant I know bc I have to :mjpls:

The movie was good but it was but it was a mindless dumb good movie.
The plot sucked, the acting sucked, some of the dialogues were damn near cringing  but it's saving grace was giant robot monsters vs aliens in which it excelled :ohlawd:

You reaching now. There are all kinds of modern appliances that wouldn't be fried by an EMP. There are various devices and power sources that present different levels of resistance. Regardless, it's not worth arguing over.

You're repeating yourself. We all know that already. The same is true for Man of Steel, except it didn't excel in the action parts and tried and failed not to be mindless, unlike Pacific Rim, which had no such pretensions.

Ummmmmm Stryker Eureka shot missiles from his chest. Did you miss that part? Bullets don't work on the kaiju, that was shown.

People killing me with all the realistic solution talk. We got a movie showing giant robots fighting giant monsters and people want to talk about why it wasn't realistic or the most effective plan? Really?

Just for perspective:

Gipsy Danger has served the Pan Pacific Defense Corps with a record of five confirmed Kaiju kills. It is a Mark-3 class, standing at 79 meters (260 feet) tall and weighing 1,980 tons.

had a chance to go check out the life-sized Gundam Model in Tokyo this month.....Boom. There it is. Look at the size of the people on the ground to get an idea of the scale. Apparently it’s 80 18 meters (60 feet) high
