So we can't listen to a 5-6 minute song but a 3 hour podcast is fine?

I can't sit there and listen for no damn 3 hours.

Those episodes are gonna be broken down into 4-5 different sittings for me. I'll come back later when I have the time.
People conceive podcasts in a strange way. Its not like nikkas are sitting in a chair and looking at a wall listening to podcasts for 3 hours:russ:

People listen to podcasts at work, while exercising, cleaning the house, driving to work etc

Yea but the point i'm trying to make is that people's attention spans are supposed to be short. But how can that be the case if we can sit and listen to 3 hour podcasts?

Attention spans depends on the content.
Songs aren’t keeping people’s attention for longer than 4 mins.
Video games get played for hours.
Artists gotta know how to keep people’s attention.

I listen when I'm driving. But I ain't in the car long enough. So that's getting broken up into sections.

I do music while working out. So if I'm in a podcast mood, it's usually when I'm on the go or knocking out a little cleaning. But I ain't doing any of that for no damn three 3-5 hours. LOL!!

They’re short, so that people can play them twice, and they get more money from the streaming service.

I think a proper song should be at least 4 minutes. Back in the 80’s, they’d have extended mixes on the B side of the record, that were 7 or 8 minutes long. A few songs, like Rick James’ fire and desire were over 7 minutes.

As for podcasts, I think they serve a different demographic. And I doubt that most people finish a 3 hour long podcast. It’s why the successful podcasters post shorter clips on YouTube.
