And yet she's tied in the polls...Bro you sound like a CAC right now.

If Abrams doesn't win, it's not cause of any of the stupid shyt you just said - it's cause of ignorant c00ns like you not voting.

Only bad thing about getting more people involved in politics, is that you get more jackasses like you who don't know shyt.

Literally sound like a racist CAC, and yeah you're getting negged - you fukking loser.

Get out of your fukking feelings man. I'm tired of black men being so emotional about everything. Everything I stated is true those attributes will contribute to her losing.

I'm ok with not having a state tax, but since you're ok with taxing corporations, where do you think the money gonna come from? The ceo not gonna be like, "it's ok, I'll lower my salary from a million dollars to 900k so we can pay these corporate taxes". It's gonna be coming from hard working Americans who need the money more. I'll give an example. I used to work at Walgreens, left a year ago. Recently they had to pay a huge fine to the SEC for some reason due to stock fraud. What did they do after? Cut the amount of vacation that people can have and a bunch of other benefits. These corporations won't give a fukk about no taxes. They all full of greed. And even if they don't take it out on their employees, they'll do it on the consumers.

CEOs need to learn how to cut back on thwir own salary.

Yet she’s right there in the polls with a strong chance to win.

I'm from GA the polls always look close but the state has been solidly red since former and last democrat governor took down the Confederate flag. Our current governor is a crooked bigot but that didn't stop them from electing him 2x. Jon ossoff couldn't even win with the stars aligned perfectly.

If you had to build the perfect candidate for a white male Republican to run against it would be Stacey Abrams. I don't care if you're upset this is my analysis she's not going to win.

Ol boy has NO chance in Florida. I took one look at the good ol boy he’s running against and already saw the outcome. Plus he’s got that Trump co-sign and already make a statement that went something like “let’s keep Florida great”, basically the way it is.

Nah it’s a wrap

Breh, Gillum has been ahead of DeSantis in thirteen straight polls and that was before he buried him in the last debate. He doesn't just have a chance, he's the clear favorite right now. There are no guarantees in 2018 politics, but if nothing major happens between now and election day and Florida Democrats show up and vote, they will win. You're talking a state that only elected Trump by a single percentage point and saying a Democrat has no chance there because of Trump support?

Stacy Abrams has zero chance of winning. She's an unmarried black female, democrat, overweight and possibly LGBT running for governor in a red state.

And she's 10x the candidate that he is. The last six polls have all shown the race within 2 percentage points, anything from a 2% Kemp lead to a 2% Abrams lead. Trump only got 50.4% of the Georgia vote in 2016. It's going to be all about voter turnout. If Black voters turn out to the polls, Abrams will win.

They wouldn't be doing everything they can to suppress the Black vote in Georgia if they weren't shook about Abrams have a chance to take them out there.

What platform are Abrams and Gillum running on?

What are the black voters from GA and FL demanding from them ?

Abrams is primarily running on improving opportunities for poor children and families in Georgia. She wants to expand Medicaid so that all poor families have access to health care and increase public spending on education especially preschool for needy kids. She's looking to decriminalize minor marijuana possession and end cash bail for poor defendants. She wants to block all attempts at voter suppression.

She's not really trying to attract moderate Republicans or conservative independents, her entire strategy is focused more around boosting turnout among the Democratic base, doing big get-out-the-vote efforts with Black voters, liberal urban whites, and the minority of Democrat-leaning rural whites who feel abandoned by conservatives.

She also has a reputation for being brilliant (Yale law degree and seems to be able to actually use her smarts in office) and for working with people to get things done.

Gillum, like Abrams, is looking to expand Medicaid to cover more people and to increase education spending (which he'd do via a 2% raise in the corporate tax rate). He wants an increase in the minimum wage. He's against the Stand Your Ground law. He's stated a desire to repeal the law that strips voting rights from all ex-felons (outside of murder and sex offenses). He's made a big deal of supporting the science of climate change and how ignoring it will be a threat to Florida's safety and environment.

He also is supposed to be some sort of incredible networker/campaigner, who has spent the last twenty years slowly building up his base of support to the point where he already had a detailed operation going all over the state before he was even really running for office.

This should be interesting. How these midterms go is going to tell a lot about how the presidential election will go.

Rumor is Gillum trying to impose a state tax or raise corporate taxes or something like that. Don't know how well that will go over with the voters. Especially since they'll be the ones paying for it.
:beli: Don’t believe rumors and do your research. He’s not raising state taxes. You need the legislature to do that.

I live in ATL. Hitting up the polls this week. Not really a fan of democratic values, but I’m going to vote Stacy Abrams. I don’t want that redneck Kemp as governor. Behind the scenes he’s doing everything he can to make sure blacks don’t vote, but I think voter turnout here is going to be fine.
