Why do y'all think it's such a common occurence for black nations to be dominated econonically by foreigners, whether chinese arab or indian?

I've already done some research on this topic, but i wanna know what yall think

If you look at black communities all over the planet, they are poor, which makes it easier to take advantage of, exploit and outright dominate

The reason for the poverty is because illiteracy or low education levels and little capitalism (banks, real estate and busunesss ownership)

So IMO those 2 things is what black people, regardless of location, need to address

I brought up Michael Lee Chin and the VP Records family as examples of Chinese who assimilate and contribute. Yeah, Chin made his money in Canada, but then came back (bought a bank) and is making moves to help push the country forward. Based on the past I don't see why a portion of this new crop of Chinese wouldn't assimilate too.

Outside of Supermarkets/Retail I dont know of Chinese bringing their own labor in other industries like how they import labor to Africa. (If I'm wrong lemme know) Even in the vid I only heard the sis talk about retail spots (markets, shops, hair places, etc.)

Its a two way street: Development requires Foreign Direct investment (FDI). The Chinese investment leads to the creation of more important jobs than the retail jobs lost. Not to mention were making strides in getting Debt to GDP ratio down. The government is also doing a great job of attracting Jamaicans abroad to return for business opportunities.

Besides FDI, I'd like to see:

• more of us from the Diaspara return
• the government set up a Sovereign Wealth Fund
• compete for global customer support and freelance jobs.

They assimilated because they were not investors. These people coming in are strictly business. These are new times with different rules. Your playing with an outdated playbook.

But besides that, you just said Supermarkets/Retail. If the economy improves, where do you think the money is going to go?
