Y’all keep bringing up galactus but ain’t nobody tryna see that fight breh. You need a villain they can still fight hand to hand wise. Thanos was perfect because he’s a brawler and not some ginormous entity that would look ridiculous fighting on screen. You have to find another brawler type. Doom or kang or korvac.

That's what the heralds are for. Throw a couple in there and make them for REAL threats, like beyond what the Black Order was and there's most of your brawling there. Make Silver Surfer an intriguing character who goes from herald to ally, flesh his story out and then have him and the FF takedown Galactus and it could work.

I think if you build the elements around Galactus well enough, make audiences care about the Fantastic Four, then give us another big team up (maybe the X-Men, whatever the Avengers are looking like then, Spider-Man if Sony still feels like playing nice), make the Heralds dope (i'd love big ass Terrax brawl) then you can do a final Galactus spectacle fight and have it work, IMO.

Yes, they have said that but I have been thinking after the huge success of the 20+ movie arc can they just leave well enough alone? Once you do something like that you don't want to take a step down you probably want to do the opposite and do something even more ambitious. I think they will do smaller arcs but still while doing that build up to an even bigger event than IW like a Secret Wars. Just a guess but that's how business/capitalism works, you don't minimize slow down, you maximize and speed up. But this is just a guess.

If Marvel had their way to begin with I seriously doubt they would've spent 10 years doing this...they had to because they were dealing with C-Z tier characters. Honestly you could erase damn near half the MCU movies since "Ironman"....and story-wise it wouldn't affect the build up to "Infinity War", at all. Most of the last decade was spent on establishing these characters in the public eye.

They have freedom now they didn't have back then. You don't need 20+ movies to establish 90% of the character in any of the arcs I mentioned....the public already knows who they (X-Men, F4, Dr. Doom, Galactus, etc.) are. All the heavy lifting is done.

Fred.

Facts, at the end of the day. Comic book films are sci fi kung fu movies. People punching and kicking each other in the face. When you go overboard with the space clouds and lasers, shyt starts to suck.

Who else are they gonna bring in then? Captain Marvel can't be touched by anyone in the MCU right now...and the fact that the half the slate of movies coming are with cosmic characters, who else makes sense that's a big enough draw?

  • Apocalypse is not an Avengers villains plus he would get his ass kicked by this version of Captain Marvel
  • Kang has futuristic weapons, but he's not a big enough draw for the MCU. He'll probably be in a solo film, but he's not known well enough to hold down the whole arc.
  • Sinister 6 are Spiderman villains and can't hang with Avengers.
  • Doom is Doom, and probably the only one who I'd put up there with Galactus, but to me...and I haven't read comics in 20+ years...he's not a cosmic villain. I see him more as a Loki to the MCU Thanos. Not in power or cunning, but as a segue villain and a villain for F4 or Seemingly Black Panther.
No one else makes sense but Galactus and you get all of his heralds boxing it out with these New Avengers, with Silver Surfer leading the pack.

I look at Galactus like a Unicron type villain or even MCU Dormammu, they're not going to fight him. They have to beat him in other ways.

That's the whole point though. I'm not a big fan of all that cosmic stuff. Captain Marvel shoots lasers and stuff makes her as boring as superman. They inevitably end up having to outsmart the villian on some simple premise like Dormammu. Which isn't as entertaining as a battle of will between to fairly matched opponents. Dormammu is the most powerful villian so far to appear in the MCU, but i'd take 10 more cap vs winter soldeir fights over Dormammu vs Strange.
And i'm not saying nerf anyone. Just keep them grounded and regular sized. Ragnorak's Hela would've been fun because she can still go hand to hand despite all her power. But Galactus will end up being some nuke through a blackhole type shyt which is never as fun as a true boss battle.

I borderline hate Captain Marvel in this universe, because it's not good writing so I hear you on that. But that seems like the direction that they are committed to going, so I'm trying to figure out what makes the most sense for where they are going.

I think there still will be plenty of fights. That's the MCU's bread and butter. I guarantee you if they bring Galactus, Surfer will be whooping ass for awhile before he trades teams. Hell, as I type this...Kang would be a dope ass villain for the Guardians to fight in this universe.

I love the hand to hand, and I love smaller storylines, but personally I also love when you realize you can't out punch or out gun your enemy. Something different has to happen. I personally loved how Dr. Strange defeated Dormammu. It still leaves the door open for him to come back.

My thing with Galactus is, he's not even a person, he's really just a force of nature. You can't really fight nature and if they write it right, it could be a great story where no matter how much destruction the new Avengers and Galactuses Heralds cause, he is just going to keep coming.

Fighting nameless hordes in a final battle is kind of played out now. I think the next goal for the MCU should be a big battle with named villains that they have built up through multiple movies. A team of major villains vs a team of heroes.
This is what i want. i'm hoping that in the sinister six movie, spiderman enlists a few avengers allies to fight them.
