i replayed rdr with a few problems but shyt usually went away after a few minutes. i can't play black ops at all, my nikka shooting and throwing grenades and shyt, shyt goes to options menu and damn near turns the ps3 off . I've probably had 4 or 5 dualshock 3s, i would say 3 of them had problems where they randomly pushed buttons, but never this bad.

at not having a ps4 though.

i'm not a die hard gamer....

i got specific games that i jump through hurdles for and GOW is one of the only ones that will make me spend my bread....

my nephew got ps4 tho so i be rockin with that till 2018...

Hmmm.. I last bought one in 2014. It came in the box, I guess things may have changed since then.

With that said DS3s were probably the most cheaply made controllers Sony ever made. I went through 3 of them. Yet my launch PS2 controller still works fine to this very day.

In terms of build quality:

DS1 = DS2 >> DS4 >> DS3

I was looking for one for my PS3 a couple months ago. I got lucky and went to a local game shop and got a used one (great condition) for $20. You literally can't find a legit new one at any store anymore. And all of the ones on eBay are fake.
