What you think you're saying and what you're actually saying are two entirely different things.
A population of 300,000 can be compared to a population of 2,000,000 because both should be distributed normally, with a standard bell curve.
A two sampled t-test just compares a sample mean to hypothesized mean (value, I supposed), for two independent groups.
Regression is an analysis, it doesn't mean colloquial "regression." ,
I'm not saying there isn't a z-value, what I'm saying is there is a clear difference between African immigrant success in America, and African-American success in America.
