At best it shows that they're just pandering to a group and they actually don't like what they say that they do. At worst it shows that they don't understand the music they listen too.

Paul Ryan can't like Rage against the machine when he is part of the machine. Marco Rubio can't like Tupac if he's in favour of the "war against drugs" that puts 12% of the population in 90% of its prisons.

Republicans are doing a complete 180 on their platform and saying lots of things they never said before. They lost minorities in a big way and now realize they cant win without us, in turn they push out a Latino talking about NWA and Tupac. Can you not see the difference here? 2 weeks ago they were all championing Romney and now they cant run away from that guy fast enough.

Obama brushing his shoulders off is pandering to the hip hop generation...You think he would do that infront of the AARP? ...Hilary Clinton talking like Harriet Tubman is pandering to old Southern Blacks..Joe Biden talking about "they gonna put you in chains" is pandering to his Black audience and exploiting their fears..

Consistent, measured pandering within the framework of at least profession of sympathy and concern vs. a complete about face on behalf of a party that suddenly realized "holy shyt, we can't win without these motherfukkers anymore." Also, NWA is a comically extreme choice, they aren't like Jay or Minaj, who are both transcendent pop culture figures - they made "fukk the police" for God's sake, among many other songs that will be hard to spin in a positive way as far as the mainstream goes. Listing them as a favorite band is plain fukking stupid.

He is a 41 year old latino from Miami who says he likes rap music. Where exactly is the pandering coming from? He is in the right age range for his claims to be truthful. Now if Lindsay Graham was talking about how he is a Tupac fan and that he enjoys Nicki Minaj's music I would say he was a pndering lying old b*stard.
