He's barely 40 from Florida and he's not supposed to be aware or like any form of pop culture? More than likely rolling stone asked him...

Its not like bob dole gave this answer that would be shocking and funny. A gen x'er talking about hip hop is not shocking

Obvious pandering to the minority youth though...LOL.
It's so obvious.

They really think that Rubio will bring them the latino vote? :laff:
Mexicans hate his Cuban ass and minorities see thru that kind of tokenism.
Their problem is the message, not the candidates. Putting up a brown face to spew the same bullshyt won't change squat.

Everyone talks about how the Repubs alienated hispanic voters over their immigration positions and rhetoric, but their opposition to healthcare reform and general view on the economy and income inequality was key as well. The Republicans

Hispanic people want affordable healthcare and economic policies that don't just favor the rich, and don't prioritize social issues. What a shock. Let them keep thinking all they have to do is pass some half ass immigration bill while trying to make the previous decade of incendiary rhetoric and opposition disappear and put a few tokens in front of podiums to get the hispanic vote back though.

Japan, but from the 989
to youth and minority voters?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Marco Rubio

It's no secret that Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio is a hip-hop fan--he's known to blast Snoop Dogg during long car rides on the campaign trail--but now he's revealed his rap favorites.

In an interview with GQ Magazine, Rubio said his three top rap songs are "Straight Outta Compton" by N.W.A, "Killuminati" by Tupac and Eminem's "Lose Yourself."

"The only guy that speaks at any sort of depth is, in my mind, Eminem," Rubio told GQ. "He's a guy that does music that talks about the struggles of addiction and before that violence, with growing up in a broken family, not being a good enough father. So, you know that's what I enjoy about it. It's harder to listen to than ever before because I have a bunch of kids and you just can't put it on."

:russ::myman::snoop: The Rethuglicans are setting up to get the "Urban" crowd.

I don't know man...I still believe 80% of people who vote barely know anything about policies that politicians pass

If Hispanic communities are mostly democrat its because Hispanics still live in poorer neighborhoods and democrats have those places on lock through PTA programs and public school unions...all the local government is democrat at some point its just habit and they feel that democrats have their best interest...but to act like people are sitting talking deep about policies at the Dominican barber shop while they sip their el presidentes and still able to give you a sharp shape up yeah right ...growing up in the hood is like being a Yankee fan if your from the Bronx...its ingrained in the culture

I did meet a Dominican entrepreneur from manhattan who owns various clubs and held a fund raiser for Rick perry and he invited me to watc the first debate at an event he held at this place called la marina dude was more of a right winger than me

What the actual fukk is wrong with these idiots??? Do they not realize that it's not just "token Black/Mexican/Asian/young/female" that is supposed to get votes? I don't care if they straight up nominate a Latino as a presidential candidate!

Here's what I have to say to this sheeit:

  • What are you going to do for the working class?
  • What are you going to do to make education more accessible?
  • What are you going to do for science in this country?
  • What do you think about obsolete industries like the oil industry, the military industrial complex, coal, and other industries that need to be thrown into the bushes.
  • You do realize that the music you pretend to love so much is about being anti-authoritarian and that the Republican party is all about harsh law enforcement and encouraging an oligarchy, right?
  • Why, after these extremely obvious questions that we all know the answers to, should I simply vote for you for having a Spanish surname?

shyt is straight up PANDERING. It's goddamned insulting and I'm not going to vote for a fukking sellout just because they have brown skin. I'm married more to my ideas than my ethnicity, and I refuse to pledge any kind of political allegiance to someone who wants to throw other human being into the bushes for making less than $250,000 a year!

Republican theory is based on the idea that authority is a good thing despite the fact that they love to repeat the words "freedom" and "liberty" so damn much. They think that freedom means that the rich and powerful to take as much advantage of people less fortunate than them as possible and killing non-whites overseas, while not allowing people to have class mobility, education, dominion over our own bodies, and many other things.

In case some of you were wondering... I poke around in the Rave/EDM forums because I really like that music, and they hate the conservative ideology too. Maybe it's the mind-expanding drugs that make you see the best in life and everyone else? Maybe it's the fact that they're from educated (albeit knowingly slightly spoiled) families and developed a sense of empathy as a result? Maybe the fact may are college students? In any case the heavily liberal community there that seems to be hitting a peak in popularity would be really insulted if one of these cats tried to make references to their music, too.

"I wub-wub-wub living in reality and being liberal as a result." Got a good laugh out of that crowd. :myman:

did you write this as a satire of liberals in hl? or are you being serious?

they aren't winning any new votes with this strategy and maybe even lose some. seriously if we can't get a legit 3rd party it would be nice to have at least 2 quality parties to choose from. our government as a whole is just sad.
