Exactly, nikkas are overreacting. ONFIC is a good album in my opinion and I'm not a fan of Wiz.

ONIFC is a what??? :why:

Even most white folks don't like that album and they usually like everything Wiz puts out. That album is hella average and a step down from Taylor Allderdice which is a step down from K&OJ. Dude just ran out of ways to be creative in his music. Your typical 2-3 year run rapper.

People who think Wiz "switched up" never realize that Wiz never had one consistent sound. He had a different style on almost all of his mixtapes.. just cause yall noticed him and became fans from Kush and OJ doesn't mean that was his "sound".

Also, anyone who listened to Wiz before K&OJ should know that he made multiple pop/crossover records before getting on.

Wiz's problem isn't him changing his sound, it's he found a lane and became super comfortable with it, so comfortable that he doesn't even have to be a creative emcee and spit dope shyt, cause his gimmick and his image has him set for life.

I wish Wiz would go back to Prince of the City 2 and Flight School type stuff, but I understand why he doesn't and I :salute: him for becoming what he always strive to be.. even if the music is one dimensional and lackluster.

Hip-hop fears change, especially when fans feel you found a niche that works for you. That's why the internet dikkrides Curren$y so much. They view him as the ideal rapper in this day and age. Came up trying to blow up. Didn't happen on No Limit, didn't work out on YMCMB, basically said "fukk the fame," did his own thing, puts out music when he wants, has his own crew, has his own label, signs deals with majors and indies whenever, and has the perfect rap image. He's eatin, and while he's not an A-List rapper, a lot of people know of him and he ain't stressin. Everyone's so disappointed that Wiz didn't become that, but instead that aspects of what made his music so successful were phases just like everything else in his career.

Perfect explanation. Fans didn't want to see him become a top 40 artist, but anyone who followed Wiz his whole career knows that he always wanted to be just that. Say Yeah was an attempt at that, "Make it Hot" was an attempt at that. Also, aside from "Rollin' Papers".. Wiz's sound didn't become overly commercial.. it's just become redundant and less smooth. If anything yall should be glad he's not riding that smooth lane any more cause K&OJ was him getting his Spitta on.. not that I'm knocking him for that.. but that album was him imitating Curren$y. Since everyone seems to hate biters, why wouldn't you applaud him for doing something that's more him?

I personally like Wiz's new album even the tracks featuring Amber's annoying voice and prefer his newer stuff to his older stuff. That's probably cause I relate to his newer stuff much more than hid older stuff. But then again, I'm not one to expect musicians to stick to the same formula over and over again. I expect them to experiment and constantly take risks. Sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't but you have to keep it moving.

Mostly just outlook in life. Drinking champagne, real relationships with broads, traveling, enjoying the fruits of his labor, reflecting on the hard work it took to get there. As oppose to rapping about smoking pot all day, ho's and chilling all day - I don't relate to that(maybe the ho's part still). Though he still touches on his older content so the differences aren't glaring.
