What is his core fanbase/sound?
He still talks about ballin, easy living and weed with the same producers.
Which essentially is the problem, it does not sound as good now that he's rich as fukk and it's not fresh and original like K&OJ times.
The only thing missing is spitting game about bytches, cause he's expecting a child and about to get married. I don't know since when getting married and having a child has been considered selling out.

Exactly, nikkas are overreacting. ONFIC is a good album in my opinion and I'm not a fan of Wiz. It's like a dude becomes popular and makes money and dudes don't like him anymore.
People will always love the first time they heard an artist music. They always believe that the artist best and most original work was their first album. Flashnews....artist evolve just like people.

Of course it's selling out. When you find 2 things in life that become more important than your fans, you sold out.
Hip-hop fears change, especially when fans feel you found a niche that works for you. That's why the internet dikkrides Curren$y so much. They view him as the ideal rapper in this day and age. Came up trying to blow up. Didn't happen on No Limit, didn't work out on YMCMB, basically said "fukk the fame," did his own thing, puts out music when he wants, has his own crew, has his own label, signs deals with majors and indies whenever, and has the perfect rap image. He's eatin, and while he's not an A-List rapper, a lot of people know of him and he ain't stressin. Everyone's so disappointed that Wiz didn't become that, but instead that aspects of what made his music so successful were phases just like everything else in his career.
