We eat bad , think bad, we celebrate ignorance as if it provides us oxygen to live on the daily, and we have separated science from spirituality... Black people are doomed..
And it is our fault

Those stats are misleading.

Not saying there isnt a whole bunch of pulpit hustlers out there but lets not act like even a decent percentage of churches are swimming in money.

Most can barely pay their mortgages, and a good percentage of churches ive been to the pastor doesnt even take any money.

They put up a GROSS figure, not even accounting for bills, upkeep, mortgage etc, to get an emotional reaction and you nikkas eat it up just cause you hate all things God.

Let the media distract you from whos really keeping the money from you. Cot damn you nikkas stupid, fight the strongest institution you have, the institution that united blacks in times past, and forget its the cacs oppressing you:snoop:

wait so the church shouldnt be held accountable :mjlol:

If only we had our priorities straight....
A people's priorities are nonexistent when you rake in that much dough in 30 years and have little to show for it.

To all the doubters, do the math for yourself. People give up money they literally don't have so they can pay tithes. I find it very possible.

About 270 million a week on average.
let's say there's only 10000 black churches in the country. That's $27000 a church. And we know there are more than 10000 black churches.

Spare me with your calls of :duck:

You clearly dont understand the concept of gross revenue from the hundreds of thousands of churches that exist in the United States over 30 years.

But react emotionally all you want. You just sound incredibly stupid turning on your own institutions that have an actual strong resume in black american history, when you got bigger fish to fry.

shyt's crazy to see how so many churches ball backwards. And people are wondering why white pastors are trying to "merge congregations" now...they didn't believe they were getting it like that, need black christians to save their ass. Tax free money, the black church should have been acquiring assets like crazy under their control. Putting people to work with the dividends being made. To hear churches requiring members to submit tax forms to get that 10%. In addition to money left to the church/pastors when members die.

I saw an article where a pastor needed more money to get new blades on his HELICOPTER! Google that shyt. Can't knock their hustle though. Pimping in church robes. Nothing but money and sex.

We need a new ideology that's incorporated. "The Church of Black Economic Liberation". Teach black folks how to manage that money. Tax free donations, money goes back into the community, acquire assets under them and hook up the congregation/community. You'd be surprised what damn near 0% interest on a house note could do or a job. Church can gain some respect back again.

We have 420 Billion in revenue and we keep wasting it on some greasy nikka pastors all in the name of white Jesus. All this money and are children are still being shot in the middle of the street while some nikka with a Bible rides around in a Bentley.

In Last 30 Years, Black Churches Have Taken $420 Billion From Members

Research conducted by Livesteez has reported that an estimate of $420 billion in tithes and donations has been accumulated by Black churches since the 1980s. An ongoing investigation into the spending of mega-church leaders was first initiated by Senator Charles Grassley around 2008.

The investigation took place in many churches that proclaimed what is known as the “Prosperity Gospel,” which is a practice saying that providing donations to Christian ministries will result in personal financial blessings.

Among many mega-churches that were investigated, New Birth Missionary Baptist Church was one. The church and their leader, Bishop Eddie Long, have received criticism from inside and outside the Black church. Long says he was “relieved” by the inquiries made on their financial legitimacy.

Henry E. Felder’s study of financial patterns within Black Christian places of worship reported that donations made to Christian ministries were around $508 per year, per person, in 2009. Tyler Media Services estimated that Black churches received revenue of $17 billion in 2006 alone. One prosperity church, the Reverend Creflo Dollar’s World Changers, received $69 million in 2006.

While many politicians and Black community leaders are demanding accountability for the churches that accumulate high amounts of funding, devoted followers of the church are defending the institutions and the leaders. Many loyal members of the flock claim that there is a double standard when it comes to black mega church leaders and wealthy white church leaders.

“The church has gotten caught up in materialism and greed, a lifestyle. Many ministers today want to live like celebrities and they want to be treated like celebrities. In other words, instead of the church standing with the community, the church has become self-serving. It has strayed away from its mission,” stated Dr. Love Henry Whelchel, professor of church history at The Interdenominational Theological Center.

While many churches that were investigated did not face any criminal charges, Calvary Baptist Yorba Linda Church’s leadership pleaded guilty to grand felony theft and fraud charges. Richard Cunningham and his son, Philip Cunningham, admitted to stealing funds from the church to buy timeshares in Hawaii and Palm Springs.

Some legitimate questions that are being asked are: How often and much do church leaders take advantage of the faith of Black people? How are these larges sums of money improving the state of our communities? Why do some churches decline to participate in the Grassley Congressional Investigation?
