So the 1st victim of the NBA CBA was the team that "did it the right way"

:childplease: miss me with this blaming the CBA shyt. Bill Simmons posted last night about how OKC made $35 million in revenue last year. They're making money hand over fist with the sellouts they get and all the Harden/Durant/Westbrook merchandise..they could very well afford Harden if they wanted to but their owner is too fukkin cheap.
So you think 35million is much for a NBA team :rudy:
I read that article too and the most recent numbers from Forbes show that OKC brought in $126 million in revenue. Simmons basically called OKC and the owners out for bullshytting.

All these owners are cheap. None of you should ever feel bad for these BILLIONAIRES that own the teams. If you have enough money to hand out numerous multi-million dollar contracts, you're not hurting and if you don't want to pay a player, miss me with that "we couldn't afford him" talk. You just didn't want to pay him. Simple as that.

:what: they're not going to go against the good business sense that got them to where they are in the first place. And if a player is asking for more than you think they're worth, then you really "can't afford him."

:dwillhuh:If you think drafting Durant Westbrook and harden and them as some good business sense. And not just drafting and rookie contracts ok :childplease:

:what: They know the stakes when they buy in. You gotta pay to play.

It's possible they won't, but I'd be surprised if they didn't take a step back this season and they had a championship ready team right now.

I live in the United States
Yes $35 million in pure revenue after expenses, etc. is very very good.
The fact Rekka c/s you is all I needed to see.
The NBA is a multi-billion dollar a year industry. You think 35mil is shyt :deadrose:
Its bullshyt...

We getting closer, yet I'm pretty sure we still not revealing all the bread these teams are pulling in.
And a team like OKC with Durant and Westbrook & harden... Olympic medals
Jerseys... advertising... all for 35mil?

GTFOH :russ:

Was OKC being cheap?

The answer to this question is: They offered James Harden $52 mil for 4 years.

Harden gets the full 5 year max from Houston and we're calling Morey an idiot. Which one is it?

OKC gets more wiggle room cause for them signing Harden = keeping him as a 3rd option and keeping a champ caliber core together.

Houston = trying to make a championship core out of Lin/Harden/Asik.

So ya OKC was being a little cheap, probably the smart thing to do. And ya, Morey doesn't look very smart.
