"Buzz" is so difficult to measure though, and buzz = sales has been proven to be a faulty equation.

A whole lotta people like Ross, but not enough to buy the album it seems.

I've said it before, the one thing that will move units is a fanbase invested in the individual. More than hit songs, more than "buzz", if people fukk with an artist on some sort of personal level, there will be $.

Jeezy may not get talked about half as much as Ross, and obviously isn't as visible, but the people who do listen to his music live and die by it.

It's the same reason J. Cole sold what he did and Big Sean did what he did when Sean was seemingly a much bigger "star".

I agree

pretty much. I already knew Jeezy was goin do better than Ross, I fukks with Ross but its something about his "buzz" that doesnt seem all that genuine, there's alot of fluff in it not backed by actual quality consumers. Unfortunately I feel the same about 2chainz (I hope Im wrong cause I fukks w/ 2chainz but after that album idk). Truth be told I wouldnt be surprised if Meek outsold Ross

Albums tank, it happens.

The only impressive numbers the past couple of years to me have been Cole and Jeezy, because they did better than expected (Maybe Lupe to with Lasters. They all got young fans who will support it seems).

You expect Jay/Kanye and Drake to do their numbers cause of uber mainstream appeal and the rest who do 100-150k first week and 300k after 2 months is standard for all the other well known Hip Hop and R&B artists.

But I dont think that means people like Ross, Nas, Chris Brown and Usher who doing that numbers suddenly have their careers in jeporady. Long as the concerts are still happening and talk of their music is still out there, they'll be fine and make revenue.

I think if anything Ross, whether you think he's wack or not, has kinda shown sales dont matter. Maybe even them cross over pop dudes too like Pitbull and Flo Rida.

But no doubt, this says more about Jeezy than it does less about Ross.
