I somewhat agree. but I was thinking about this the other day.

We all watched those when we were younger right? I mean I haven't seen those movies in a long time.

I don't think its so much that Sandler hasn't been funny since then I just think that We have all OUT GROWN That type of comedy and his comedy's haven't grown up with us.

however, get that 13-14 yr old kid now and let him watch those movies and they would probably laugh the way we did.

I watched the waterboy a few months ago...and while it made me laugh a few times it didn't make me laugh like I remember it did before.

This is on point.....he's been using the same jokes and humor for 20 years now. Hell he still got Rob Schneider making corny cameos about getting kicked in the nuts every movie. The shyt's just not funny past a certain age. I actually enjoy his movies that are more on the serious side with a bit of humor here and there rather than him going full retard :yeshrug:

No, because he has a four-picture deal with Netflix that he's making tons of money off of. So Netflix will be trying to shove him down our throats now.

Guess that would explain why I am constantly bombarded with The Cobbler and Big Daddy as movie recommendations despite my unwavering displeasure of all things Adam Sandler :francis:

Movie didn't interest me not one iota. If we're being real, these Adam Sandler movies have been barely breaking even for almost a decade now. Time to call it in cause this is DOA :trash:

be funny when that Adam Sandler movie releases where he's basically playing himself and he one day hops online and comes across thecoli.com and the film room forum and sees this thread full of Sandler bashing and Sandler disgust... leading him to completely change his format on making movies and then dropping consecutive Oscar award winning films

He's still riding the success of The Waterboy, kind of like M Night and The Sixth Sense..
Sandler appears to be connected in hollywood, because there is no way he could still be contracted..

Adam Sandler has always sucked :manny:

Agreed, but this is one of my favorites of all time.

Long post, but it always amazes me at just how little of fact checking goes on whenever people suggest that the movies produced by Adam Sandler are always a flop. look I'm no Sandler fan at all (sure he's had a few funny flicks, but 80-90% of his work is crap in my opinion), but all you have to do is look at the box office numbers to see that most of the "flop" talk about his movies is nonsense.

Pixels
made $49M worldwide in 3 days on a $88M budget. it will easily end up around $200M worldwide when it's all said and done 2-3 months from now. that's not a flop.

of course studio's want every movie they make to blow up the box office, but that's not reality. most studio's are content with their movies breaking even at the box office because then all of the rentals, sales, and television airing rights are 100% profit for countless years to come. there is a reason why studio's continue to allow him to produce movies and that's because most of them are profitable regardless if they are crap or not.
