yea, he has the Netflix deal going. but this guy is a movie star and this big budget flop aint a good look. Netflix aint far away from goin straight-to-redbox status. the cobbler didnt even come to theaters, did it?...
to say he was never great i strongly agree w/. dude has some classic comedies in his career. and punk drunk love is a great movie also.

Terminator was a flop as well.

why are we basing this flop on the american maret when he will EASILY come ahead with the worldwide numbers?

the international market for movies is getting bigger and bigger every year.

think he or the studios care if they make 200 million inthe US and 0 internationally or 50 million in the US and 150 Million worldwide?

hell naw.

I ain't capin for Sandler at all but this is just business realities. He makes money. half his movies ain't funny to me but I still enjoy his films with my FAMILY.
movies like Click and Blended and shyt I watch with my kids and they all buy in. THAT is who he is making movies for.

I will say that this movie looked more promising in trailers before I saw sandler, but :manny: I still have plans on taking the kids tomorrow to see it.

Long post, but it always amazes me at just how little of fact checking goes on whenever people suggest that the movies produced by Adam Sandler are always a flop. look I'm no Sandler fan at all (sure he's had a few funny flicks, but 80-90% of his work is crap in my opinion), but all you have to do is look at the box office numbers to see that most of the "flop" talk about his movies is nonsense.

Pixels
made $49M worldwide in 3 days on a $88M budget. it will easily end up around $200M worldwide when it's all said and done 2-3 months from now. that's not a flop.

of course studio's want every movie they make to blow up the box office, but that's not reality. most studio's are content with their movies breaking even at the box office because then all of the rentals, sales, and television airing rights are 100% profit for countless years to come. there is a reason why studio's continue to allow him to produce movies and that's because most of them are profitable regardless if they are crap or not.

I dont understand why sandler can be amazing in certain movies and suck in the rest of them.... :mindblown:
Its got to be that's he doesn't really try that hard in the movies he owns and produces. I'm sure if he signed on to a project where he just had to act, a good director could get something different out of him...
