Aren't the All-New X-Men an alternate universe version of the original team when they were young? They got stuck in the regular Marvel Universe.

So it's not the "real" Bobby Drake.

I would have no problem with this if Bendis had actually shown even an ounce of skill in how he revealed it. instead it came across as some sort of immature frat house joke. Bendis is such a shytty writer.

BASICALLY? It's like Jean had to convince him he was gay. NEVER seen anything like it in the history of comic book writing:laugh:

Marvel has said that the older regular Marvel Universe Iceman is gay too but he's still in the closet.

Figures. Thats the only way I can think of to plausibly explain Iceman being gay and in the closet but for it to work without being a complete retcon is for there to be moments in the older comics where they show Iceman having "gay" moments.

I don't have a problem with characters being gay, but I hate when the take someone with decades of history and try to shoehorn that in. That's shytty writing done for press and controversy. I don't like that they made GL Alan Scott gay, New 52 or not.

It was insulting as fukk the way it was written and then to see all of these interviews from Bendis and Quesada and other Marvel folks talking about "it has always been there just look at iceman's history with women", like a dude being unlucky with the ladies automatically makes him gay.

He's frustrating, because I've read a lot of his books, dude is very talented. but he struggles mightily with teams. And he speaks through characters instead of writing them as they have been established.
When I started catching that one of the main theme behind his entire half decade build up to secret invasion was "People who believe in god are the main problem in society" I was like "man this nikka need to leave his issues at home":why:
