So now that Trump won the election, what can the Democratic Party do better to have a chance in 2028??

they were shoved onto us because Democrats can't make up their minds on anything so they settled. Republicans CHOSE Trump. Democrats throughout have just been like "if it gets Trump out, fukk it." We chose Obama and that worked out tremendously. Democrats can't find anyone they collectively like and that has been a problem for decades.

In 6 decades, Democrats have loved 3 guys damn near unconditionally:

JFK
Clinton
Obama
That's not quite accurate.
In 2000 Bush stole the election. Gore won and should have been president however he conceded too early. Gore may have won outright if he leaned on Clinton throughout the campaign.

In 2004 John Kerry was a poor choice.

In 2016 Hillary basically owned the DNC (and funded them) and everyone in the democratic establishment basically thought it's finally Hillary's time, let's give it to her. So Hillary grew overconfident. And they severely underestimated Trump. At this point everyone hated business as usual neoliberal politics and nobody will ever represent that as much as Hillary Clinton.

In 2020, Obama had to finger wag the over candidates to fall in line behind Bident to prevent Bernie Sanders from winning the nomination. Biden barely beat "Let's inject bleach y'all" Donald Trump by 40K votes.

In 2024 Biden dragged his feat on running in 2024 after promising to only serve a single term. Then Kamala became the candidate without a primary, foregoing party democracy and ensuring the best candidate would face Trump.

Kamala was not the best candidate. I doubt Newsom or Whitmer would have fared much better either.

So I don't think a candidate needs to be beloved by all wings of the party. They just need to be competent. Gore has mostly competent (again should have leaned on Clinton) and he did win but failed to become president. Kerry was not strong enough to unseat a sitting president.
And since Obama there has not been a competent Democratic candidate who won purely on their own merits.

Gavin Newsome probably wants no parts of being Democratic leader, Party is a mess:huhldup:Can't have Big Gretch, the female candidate is dead for a generation.
If the opposition is Ted Cruz, JD Vance, Josh Hawley or a Ron DeSantis I would take that punt over potentially waiting for another two terms or attempting to unseat a sitting president.

Trump fukking STOMPED the battleground states it looks like. These white people showed up and showed OUT.

Republicans are about to control the Senate as well. Trump is going to get whatever the fukk he wants.

Dems are going to have to start all over from scratch. I felt like Kamala ran as close to a perfect campaign as possible but white people said “Nah”. The cold hard truth is Dems are going to have to get WHITE PEOPLE back on their side. Us blacks for the most part aren’t going anywhere (despite the hoopla)

Vance is going to be the next President after Trump. You guys need more time to regroup and get yourself someone who can engage most people.

It depends how the next 4 years go. Will Trump finish his mandate? Will Vance be the next republican candidate?

The last popular dem presidents were Bill Clinton and Obama. Both guys who were considered cool and charismatic. The DNC sucks at picking candidates. Gore, Kerry, Hillary, Biden really got lucky imo. Kamala gets some of the blame but she was parachuted late in the game so i give her some slack. Ultimately she was not the right candidate. But again i blame the DNC for sticking with Biden for too long. But objectively they don't run "cool" charismatic people. They need to stop running nerds and females who are viewed as condescending/above the people.

As far as policies, i really don't know cause none of it makes sense.

Yall aren’t going to like what the Democrats would have to do to win more consistently…

They’d have to pander more to those bigoted neck beards a lot of you (me included) detest so much.

Stop pandering to minorities as much, drop the culture wars and pushing LBGTQ rights, and be much more center right.

They cater to Gen Z and Millennials a lot, but they aren’t as reliable of a voting block and more divided on certain issues.

Those Baby Boomers and Gen X traditionally vote along racial and party lines and are a much more reliable voting block.

A lot of the aforementioned aren’t voting for a women much less a woman of color. Obama was a once in a lifetime type candidate and one could argue a lot of what you see now is due to a direct opposition to someone like him ever coming along again for a very long time.

Legalizing marijuana, gay marriage, woman’s rights as it relates to abortion, gun regulation, progressive agendas, and other touchy legislation such as that turn off an extremely large swath of voters.

Whites and a lot of those Hispanics lean more conservative in their views even if they are voting against their own interests.

Many of you wouldn’t like the Democratic Party you asking for.

Only thing Democrats could have done is run a young White guy that appeals more to those Rust Belt cacs. The DNC going to have some tough decisions to make moving forward.

A lot of yall want more progressives candidates like Bernie and AOC and they wouldn’t fare as well Kamala did.
Agree with most of what you said but they love progressive economic policy, not social policy. It's why Trump can get his fake populist on. Why the hell aren't Dems pushing no tax on overtime and leaving that lane for Trump? Dems biggest problem is they never deliver the shyt that would affect people directly.

$15 min wage...nope
Child tax credit.... nope
Voter rights...nope (this was the whole point of the Georgia senate push at the time)
Student loans...some of you
Universal health care... The donors don't even allow that to be brought up anymore

I think it will be revealed a lot of Dem voters just stayed home. Writing off the whole thing as racists gonna get you nowhere. Racists have mortgages and car loans too.

People said this and looked at us like we were crazy.

This is still a white country.

If Dems had more white voters this shyt would’ve been an easy win.

Wrong take. The problem was the fact both women were shoved onto us, and they were both deeply unpopular, uncharismatic and ran awful campaigns.

There will never be another candidate as unpopular as 2016 Hillary Clinton.
Hillary beat Bernie. She won more primaries than him. She wasnt forced on anyone. Dems wanted her. Her campaign for president sucked.
