Congo has an ungodly wealth of minerals and metals which are essential to the gadgets and devices we use today.

But they don't have oil so that's why the US isn't there.

I know alll about that but it's not worth it for that instability in the country.

Well it'd benefit them much more than Afghanistan ever did. I don't think your seeing just how much money could and would be made by all those different resources.
