So no thread about PhonZhi complaining about destructive music but being an Eminem fan?

I don't think this changes the fact that music can be destructive.

I think @PhonZhi understand the technical skill of rap, but can seperate that with the message.

Your average young black kid in the community will not identify with Eminem, thus, he probably doesn't listen to Eminem. I think @PhonZhi speaks on the music the community is actually tuned into.

So how exactly is the music destructive when the society that spawned it was already in turmoil from the jump ?

You and other posters with common sense understand. My threads are appreciated by people with a certain mindstate apparently:

http://www.thecoli.com/threads/im-starting-to-agree-with-phonzi-about-this-music-thing-now.338191/

Just like with everything in life, some people gonna love it and others are gonna hate. Cant please everybody. My mantra is if i can make 1 person have that moment im good. I dont care about the hate & name-calling. Im not a sheep. Ive always been a lone wolf. My own man. The threads will continue and if they make your blood pressure rise....dont click:yeshrug:

And you're dead on with my appreciation for the "technical" aspect of rapping. I wish more posters were into it, but according to the coli black people aren't into the "technical" side of rap:mjcry:

What if destructive music wasn't the apocalyptic bomb detonated, but the materials uses to increase that bombs strength?

What's a senseless beating to a homeless man? Surely that beating didn't make him homeless, but that beating didn't help his condition at all did it?

But the conditions predate the music is my point.

Define "the jump". "The jump" is when we were taken from our homeland and brought over here and cut off from our native tongue and history, and families broken up rite? Thats like saying why acknowledge crack when the REAL cause was slavery itself.

Negative, poisonous hiphop culture is gas on top of the fire helping to keep us mentally enslaved. Its almost like yall purposely ignore the past and how black people were BRAINWASHED AND MENTALLY CONDITIONED

You cant control a mass group of people without gaining control of their minds

"music is the most powerful sound there is"
"its powerful for 2 reasons, you recognize it fast and you associate it very powerfully"
"music is the most powerful form of sound that we know that effects our emotional state"
"the fourth way in which sound effects us is behaviorally" plays fast music " with all that other stuff going on it would be amazing if our behavior didn't change. so ask yourself is this person ever going to drive at a steady 28 miles per hour? i don't think so"
but i thought music had zero affect on the listener :jbhmm:

they're in denial @PhonZhi

That seems to be the central theme of Phonzhi's rants. He denies doing so but he uses it as a scapegoat for numerous situations.

I dont mean to name call but only an idiot would think that i think rap is the genesis of the black plight in AmeriKKKa.

You do realize that the black plight started 400+ years ago rite:ld:

I dont think hiphop existed then:skip:

Seems like he's just identifying the most prominent medium being used currently. It's very relevant in today's society. TODAY.

I'll sit back and read around some more.

You say us as if every black person is in fact taken part in these negative aspects of hip-hop i.e. drug abusing and distribution, committing crimes and disrespecting women when that's just not the case.

Not the main reason...but if I'm a child with no vision of what it looks like outside the hood. And all I know is what rappers from the hood have done to create the illusion of making it out...

My immature mind is going to believe that illusion and follow suit. You can't underestimate the impressionability of an uneducated mind. It's really obtuse to not see how music can mold a childs mind.
