okay, i been searching for the answer to this question and i cant find it....

I dont care if i get banned i have multiple xboxes....

do i HAVE to have an ihas drive to burn and play games? or is there a way i can burn them with my regular drive and still play? I havnt updated to 3.0 yet, but i plan on doing it this weekend.

No,IHAS drive is meant to burning games so you dont get caught online. If you plan on playing offline then you can burn them with any DVD drive so long as it has dual layer...But even so,the LT 3.0 firmware should protect you from being caught. IMO,Ihas is a marketing scheme and should only be used if you're using the USB Xkey instead of flashing your drive.



Brehs,i just tried to flash my first xbox and it failed. It was a liteon (fukk these things) and i did something stupid. Instead of using an off and on switch for the drive,i kept unplugging and plugging the DVD cord from the xbox. Once i figured out how to make my own kit with a switch and probe,i realized i fried my PCB board fukking youtube videos... Anyways,i have a RROD xbox coming that imma fix up and try to flash. Hopefully it isnt a liteon. fukk all this probing and turning the DVD drive off and on...

been downloading games like crazy lately...Also best buy got them signapore verbatim 20 pack for $22. Burned like 5 games already and saved me $300

the latest dash does disc checks to make sure the full game data is there. Microsoft developed anti-piracy methods that use the entire DVD's useable data. an ihas drive will never fail a disc check because it burns the whole game.

some people say you don't need an ihas drive but i tried Mass Effect 3 when it first came out on some verbatim disc and it wouldn't boot. i copped an ihas drive and it booted on the first burn. in fact i've never had a disc fail burning with my ihas.

ive never failed a burn either and i use my laptops dvd burner...I even successfully used Memorex DVD's...That ihas thing is useless IMO...Just run and patch the games through abgx and burn to disc and you're golden...

i'm looking at how to mod these new slims and its not worth it you have to drill through a chip or cut a trace and replace it depending on what chip you have.

i gotta find a falcon used 360 and try to mod that since they're so easy to mod in comparison.

had to spend $60 to get the tools to mod another 360 with out soldering. i'm gonna have to have my pops teach me how to solder cause it sucks not knowing how.

ended up buying a Jasper 360 but the fool updated it to the latest dashboard and that flashes the DVD drive to the firmware i can't read with my old tools.

So far the recent dashboard update (beta) has not effected the LT + firmware nor xkey...all games are working fine and you can go live.

i decided to stick with phat 350s to mod. bought one for $60 off craigslist. you don't have to solder an phat 360.

yea i stay away from slims....After reading about drilling chips and shyt i was like nahhh...And i aint about to spend $$$ on a new PCB or a replacement one (think they go for $80+)

Really,there is no difference in playing a mod phat compared to a mod slim. Both play back ups fine but one is easier to flash and update while the other may cause you to fukk up your shyt. I keep my slim in case my phat gets banned,which it shouldnt.
