Is this app shyt that serious? I mean, while Iphone and Android have literally billions of apps. 99.95% of them are complete shyt. The essential apps that every one must have are in the Windows phone store. The other features are hard baked in to OS. The shyt just works man. Only phone possibly seeing my current phone will be the iphone 5. But since the majority of the iphone 5 features will be cosmetic i'll likely be passing. I already own a ipad which i love, but the OS is tiresome. I get sick of swiping through apps. The experience is just so unsophisticated, especially when compared with the slickness and smoothness that is Windows Phone.

App catalogue.. Come on now catch up no problem..

Developers are not going to pass up on the worlds most popular operating systems 1.4 billion Windows PC's in the wild that is more than Android and Apple's marketshare put together.

People will make apps on Windows and port it to Windows Phone with 2 lines of code. Apps have the potential to surpass the app store.

Now lets talk about games have you ever heard of Direct X this is what most Xbox and PC games are built on and its going to be ported to Windows Phone.

So you can expect PC/Xbox type games on Windows Phone with cross sync play.

Windows 8 is when shyt gets real.

Oh yeah don't forget about Skype the worlds #1 VOIP communication software and that's baked right into the phone a Skype call is like a phone call.

Have you ever had to try to call someone long distance but you don't want to waste your minutes now you can call using Skype using your Skype credit via WiFi directly on your phone no APP.

MS is putting their entire ecosystem together Windows, Skype, Xbox Live, Bing, Office into their Operating Systems your getting a lot right out of the box its pretty scary.

you nikkas have never seen a device with no apps. Touchpad with webos was the woat, there was like only 10 apps that were useful.

When android came on touchpad we all felt :ahh:

Here is a few other key experiences to Windows Phone 8

Maps
- Yeah iOS finally gets turn-by-turn with Siri support that's impressive I must say but right now all Nokia WP gets turn-by-turn regardless you don't need a specific model.
- Nokia has 140 maps world wide which you can download and use turn-by-turn GPS without a connection
- Nokia will have TellME built in which is similar to Siri but not as good

Enterprise
- Supports Group Policy and Active Directory easy to manage and deploy apps and settings
- Corporations can have their own Marketplace

Gaming
- Direct X support which is huge port DX games like Batman AA to WP with a few lines of code

VOIP
- Whatever VOIP chat client you like Skype, Tango, ooVoo whatever features can be implemented directly to the OS no APP's needed its like making a phone call the experience is seamless

MS only announced 8 features but those are the features I like the most they will be debuting ALOT more when the officially debut Windows 8 & Phone 8

MS has proved time and time again that they canot compete in the mobile market. Anyone remember the Kin?

I will say though they were on this smartphone shyt way before Apple. I had a Windows smart phone back when the OS was just called Windows Mobile. I was like 16 and everywhere I pulled my phone out people were amazed.

We all wish. CGI'd in. If you see the real video you can catch when they splice it in from the batter's hit in slow mo.

Why yes of course retardo. If it wasn't there wouldn't be a marketplace for apps in WinPhone.

Listen you moron. Apps are actually NOT that serious, as the OS in windows phone can literally do the work of hundreds of iOS apps. Trust me I own a 64 gig 3rd Gen Ipad. I literally have 100's of apps on the thing. Its a beast no doubt, but the OS is seriously showing its age when held side by side with Windows Phone 7.5

No doubt

apps like maps, social networking, productivity, song recognition, augmented reality its all built in. No need to browse for your favourite apps its just there.

I always hear FB users complaining about how shytty FB is on Android... I don't even have FB installed on my WP and I can use FB without it

KIN was a experiment which created the social networking beast which is WP7/7.5.

Windows Mobile was way ahead of its time this thing had background multitasking way before iOS the hardware wasn't there to compensate for the SW features.

MS usually needs good HW to run a powerful Windows OS and the time is now when ARM can pump out dual/quad core phones that's why WP8 is the real deal on mobile.

Lets face it Android copied WM6.5 that's why they are getting sued left right and center.

Y'all think only Apple is suing them but OEM's have to pay Microsoft 15$ for every Android phone made.

KIN, WM6/6.5 WP7/7.5 = Windows CE kernel meant for lower power devices
WP8 and future generations = Windows 8 shared kernel so its an actual legit OS
