When a boss talked down to me (and he did it all the time.) I met him in his office on break and told him that he's not going to speak to me like that anymore.

He tried to explain, blah blah. I made a few rare harmless mistakes with the database, doesn't matter you're not going to talk to me like that.

Eventually I was let go, I didn't mind. You may lose your job, or you will. But standing up for yourself is fukking priceless, nobody could determine your worth except you.

Next time, document the incident and report it to HR. Then file with the OFCCP.

That way, they can't get you because they'll be up for retaliation. Once the fix is in keep documenting every single incident that feels even the slightest bit off.

You're a perceptive guy, or maybe not, but the reality about racism in the work place is that it's real. You gotta take a stand and not get caught slipping either.
