Breh you hit it right on the money. People really can't distant themselves from their phones for even a bit. I can't tell you how many times I see people get it with the subway doors because they're not paying attention to their surroundings and jump out at the last second because they're on their phones.
Social media has gotten bad as well. People posting x amount of pics giving off the illusion that they're about something. It takes me every fiber of my being sometimes not to be a complete a$$hole & violate these lames and expose them.

How do you think this has affected people face to face socializing skills?
sadly we live in a narcissitic society, its very sad and its only going to get worse with the advance of technology. People look at me funny when i tell people I dont have a facebook, instagram, twitter, etc

everyone eating wellI took care of some kids for a couple of days for the summer and they were all engrossed in their tablets, nickelodeon and that was it. I took everything away from them and told them to go outside and it was if I had murdered their best friend.
FFWD a couple hours later and they were smelling fresh air, playing and having fun, something that would not happen if buried in these attention sucks.

Kinda disheartening to look at it overall. I say "the world", but I guess it's moreso just American culture...I can't speak for other countries.
People can't separate themselves from their phones for seemingly long enough to make a safe trip(nevermind the safety of other drivers aroudn them) in their car......it's 7AM in drivetime traffic who the hell are you needing to text-drive with that early in the morning?!
The bad economy has ppl tap-dancing and backstabbing others at every angle for even menial jobs.
Social media whoring by both women AND men has over-inflated so many egos, and underneath it it's all empty. Ppl posting pictures of everything they eat, or drink, etc. Constant celebrity worship......so many ppl concerned about what such and such celebrity/athlete is doing that they don't even work to discover their own talents.
Overall, people just seem to be getting more & more stupid. Ever get on twitter and just read random comments on trending topics? DO IT....it'll blow your MIND.
What's worse is the amount of people that have find a common place where they can both complain about everybody and everything while also be able to live life to the fullest.
The only thigh I agree with you about is "texting and driving"

I kinda like the "take a picture" I'm doing this era. It stops the lies. And it makes celebrities look like regular people.. especially not the top-tier a-list actors / rappers.
You can live a decent lifestyle without having to become a rapper / dboy, and I see a bunch of dayjob dudes flossing well off them IT certs.

Kids growing up in this are much better off than the kids growing up in the early 90s when there was a good chance you could be killed just for wearing the wrong color or because some lame wanted the shoes you are wearing

I think a lot of innocence is being lost at an earlier age due to social media.
