Well, I'm not really that surprised. It's over $69,000.
Porsche has a high customer satisfaction rating. But rich people who own Porsches don't complain about service costs. Same thing with Tesla.
truth is you dont need the same amt of service in a EV that you do in a normal vehicle. you dont have to opt for the tesla maintenance plan. can just go at it alone and if something comes up. then take it in.
Brake pads on EVs tend to wear slower, since regen braking takes much of the pressure off the pads. They aren't a yearly item you would replace. My colleague, Phil Reed, who has leased a Leaf for almost two years now, is still on his original brake pads.
^^thats from an edmonds article. so if i'm getting that much life on my brake pads. what am i really taking my car in for? i can top off any fluids myself. my tires get rotated anytime i change my tires.so the only thing i might need is a firmware update. thats if i cant do that myself. probably can.

Imagine when their costs drop and when models come out that cost less than $35k, the gas guzzlers days are numbered.

teslas' are not a bad looking car, but if they can stop the defect making them explode then we'll be cool.

I mean not even a year ago they tried to ban it in certain states.
well there have been reports of fire that have been getting covered up.

I'm positive on the overall company still but many in the car community aren't.
