seems odd that there isnt season 1 of dare devil and the other premieres of oitnb. they must not include them when a new season breaks the old seasons record i assume? or is it just current seasons period?

Luke Cage Is Marvel's Biggest Netflix Series of the Year
It isn’t much of a secret that the arrival of Marvel Television’s “Luke Cage” was kind of a huge deal, but now it’s official: “Luke Cage” is the biggest Marvel Netflix hit of 2016.

Symphony Advanced Media, a company that gathers media consumption data, reports that “Luke Cage” was Marvel’s biggest streaming hit of the year. While Netflix may not report ratings or viewership numbers, Symphony claims that the show managed to outperform the second season of Marvel’s “Daredevil.” Not only that, it challenged other Netflix originals.

According to the report, “Luke Cage” managed to open stronger than “Making A Murderer” and even Netflix darling “Stranger Things,” although it did fail to keep pace with those two after its first month. Per the report, it’s estimated that in the show’s first 32 days of release, 6.34% of 18-49 year olds were watching “Luke Cage” in an average minute. While that’s something of an odd statistic, it would line up with how most people like to watch Netflix shows: in one long binge session. The second season of “Daredevil” only managed to hit 5.94% in that same metric.

Based on this information, it seems fairly clear that the general themes of “Luke Cage” clicked with its audience in a way that other Marvel series did not. While it may not have been the most popular Netflix original, it’s obvious that Marvel has a bonafide hit on their hands.

:ehh:

Notice it's the biggest "marvel" series of the year as oppose to just "series" of the year. Which indicates it is only being gauged against Daredevil season 2. Just saying :hubie:

BLACK VIEWERS MATTER
Daredevil S2 was Marvel's top watched Netflix show (see the report in the op)... and Luke Cage beat it :ohhh:

Luke Cage is Marvel's top netflix show to date :wow:

A wrongly convicted institutionalized black man immune to getting gunned down and putting a hoodie on as his superhero costume... big ratings :hubie:

You know it's gonna be successful when civil war barely premiered and people were already raving about him on twitter :wow:
The civil war fresh off the heels of the wildly popular winter soldier, that everyone knew Spiderman, tony stark and the avengers (minus 2) were going to be in? That civil war? You are comparing that to black panther which most MCU are still getting to grips with
