Playing devils advocate a bit....
Nazi imagery wasn't considered as much of a faux-pas in the past, and the punk scene of the late-70's/early 80's considered some of their imagery fashionable.
Bands like Siouxsie And The Banshees, Joy Division, Sex Pistols, etc have been photographed wearing swastikas, it's hard to say how many were believers in their ideology...but many were doing it for aesthetic purposes and to be "shocking".

Not trying to cop-pleas for anyone, and I don't really know what Bowie's motivations were, just saying, there might be some context behind it....
Regardless, I agree 100 percent...when black celebs pull some shyt, nobody ever lets it go. Whites are given a pass immediately.
I'm wondering how people are going to look back on homophobia in rap...and I wonder if Eminem will be at the forefront of the discussion (As he should be). The agenda won...now a bunch of dudes gonna be vilified by history....![]()

- his repeated public admiration of Adolf Hitler.
- His biographer statin that he was obsessed with Hitler and the Third Reich
- Alleged Nazi salute in front of fans
- Stated that he believes in fascism strongly and that Britain needs a fascist leader
- Moved to Berlin. Nothing else to say, David Bowie moved to Berlin
- He apologised later on for his past beliefs (indicating that it was more than fashionable clothing)
...I mean dude, how many coincidences you wanna give him
