Nazi imagery wasn't considered as much of a faux-pas in the past, and the punk scene of the late-70's/early 80's considered some of their imagery fashionable.

Bands like Siouxsie And The Banshees, Joy Division, Sex Pistols, etc have been photographed wearing swastikas, it's hard to say how many were believers in their ideology...but many were doing it for aesthetic purposes and to be "shocking".
